Specsavers vs Costco Hearing Aids (Australia)

Hi.

I had a hearing test performed at Specsavers and after much research (and assistance on these forums) I was about to purchase the Advance Elite slim in black for $3,950.00.

My wife asked if I’d considered Costco hearing aids and I honestly hadn’t really researched them. They are much cheaper at $2,199.99.

Would any of the four Costco ones be worth considering or would they not be as good as the more expensive Specsaver one I’m looking at?

I’ve found it quite hard to get pure stats of different hearing aids which makes comparing things tricky.

Any thoughts or feedback on experience would be very appreciated.

The device you showed is a Signia Styletto . Its tech levels go from 1 to 7. The advanced is usually the 5IX and the premium is the 7.

Costco does not sell the Styletto but it does sell the Rexton reach , which is equivalent to the Signia C&G 7IX. The Styletto and the C&G have similar performance.

This means you can buy a “sibling” aid with higher tech level device with unlimited fittings , unlimited supplies , warranty and loss protection plus a 180 return policy at Costco for less money.

They are superior in every way, Costco only sell premium models (they sell rebranded models, the only difference is in the name) it’s a no brainer, dump Specsavers! also you can’t even them if you decided you’d like to, with Costco you’ll have no problem.

I have the Rexton Reach from Costco Australia. I’m very happy with them. The way I look at it, I can get a very good hearing aid for a third of the price of other providers, which is hard to say no to. I do think the Phonak Spheres are the best hearing aids on the market today, but I can’t justify the price tag. So I’m happy to use the Rextons for a couple years and by then Costco will probably have the Spheres or possibly something even better.
