Starkey Patient Database 2015 no longer works. The 2015 version was being used to run all past and current releases of Starkey Inspire.

UPDATE: It doesn’t matter that the old version of Starkey Patient Database 2015 is no longer supported. You can use the newer versions of Starkey’s Patient Database. Here’s a link to those; Starkey’s legacy and current Patient Database31.

Yeah that’s weird, so you could still save to the but not to PatientBase as such, sounds like their trying to lock down the software to authorised account holders only.

So it’s asking for this to installed/updated? Before installing Starkey Patient Database you installed .NET Framework, it’s certainly been an issue with some other manufacturers software installation.
So what happens when you install/update to latest .NET?

No, there were no requests to install .NET Framework. It just came along with other Microsoft Windows updates. Specifically, the Dec-13 2022 KB5020880 Cumulative Update.

After KB5020880 I just happened to try installing Starkey Patient Database 2015.

But now Starkey Patient Database 2015 no longer works. I suspect that KB5020880 is the culprit.

Oh ok I see, yes it’s most likely the culprit, so can you uninstall it and get back to the previous version,or windows won’t allow you? I guess system restore to get back to where you were, actually one of the reasons I have quite a few PC’s, it’s always a PITA when a update breaks a perfectly working device or software.

I went back to a previous image of windows (2022-09-07) and still cannot install Starkey Patient Database 2015??? I will poke around some more.

The database is simply a group of Clients that contain Fitting Sessions. So it’s akin to a Customer database that contains orders.

But, the major problem with replacing a fitting-software database is the fact that the fitting-software itself, is the creator of new clients and also the creator of new sessions for the currently selected client.

Yes, it can be replaced, and it has been replaced (Noah-4 and several others). Though, it takes co-ordination with the software providers.

Yep, the message “Warning! You have chosen not to sign into PatientBase” is when you run the new Inspire 2022 without using any PatientBase.

Yes, you can use the newer versions of Starkey’s Patient Database. Here’s a link to those; Starkey’s legacy and current Patient Database12. It doesn’t matter that the old version of Starkey Patient Database 2015 is no longer supported. I was getting hung up on this screen. You can just put in (admin, admin, admin) plus, an easily remembered password of your choice. Though, remember the password or get locked out!

btw, I’m trying to add starkey stuff to the downloader but… they’re smarter than other companies, packet dumps are troublesome…

Part of my confusion; If you run Inspire from Windows Start instead of from the PatientBase shortcut you get this;

ETA: I should add this;
After starting Inspire incorrectly (like I did) if you click OK to Continue anyways, then it will lead you into a rabbit hole of false choices such as opening a professional account. I don’t recall the exact sequence but it was very confusing.

So always start Starkey Inspire by running Inspire with PatientBase (from this desktop shortcut or from the Windows Start Menu);
