I am helping with fitting of Starkey evolve 2400 hearing aids. I need new receiver and custom fit domes. What is the best option to proceed. Should I go to an audiologist? Do they provide this even thought I did not buy from them? Or can I order directly? For direct how do I get ear impressions.
Thanks for the guidance.
If you need molds—assuming that’s what you mean by custom domes—then yes, you should visit an audiologist or fitter.
Some folks in this forum mentioned an online vendor, possibly Lloyds, that sends a kit to your home for making molds. Maybe others can provide more details, but i don’t know if this would be as effective as having it done at an audiologist’s office.
After this, you need to recalibrate or feedback test the aids. If you’re doing it yourself, you could handle this on your own, but you might be missing out on the benefits of .
Edit: if you go to the audiologist that sold you the aids , he/she can give you the receivers for free and a free consultation (Custom molds are usually free). If you go to another /fittter office , they may charge you a new patient fee plus what they charge for their time . Not all audiologist will do this: some don’t accept patients that didn’t buy aids from them.
