TV Streamer, Universal or....?

My apologies if this has been asked before. I ran a search but didn’t find an answer.

I have a TV streamer that was purchased from Costco and works with KS 9 and KS 10 hearing aids. I am close to upgrading from the KS 10s and want to know of the TV streamer will work with other brands. Is the method used to stream the sound to hearing aids fairly universal or proprietary to each brand?

The streamer you have will work with most Sonova aids, but is not universal. It will with work with Costco’s Sennheiser Sonite R aids but those aids currently come with a TV streamer. If you go with Phillips, Jabra or Rexton aids at Costco you’ll need another TV streamer.

When every manufacturer makes a standard in the aids, we will be able to use universal streamers.

Until then, most streamers work on a walled garden approach - compatible only with the manufacturer’s devices.

Having tried a range of streamers that have Auracast in, having choice is amazing.
