I have an Apple Watch 11 on order (functionally same as the 10, improved battery and has wrist flick) to use with Oticon Intent 1. Anyone using an Apple Watch have advice on how to use it? I know that the Apple Watch can’t connect with the hearing aids to provide sound, but I am frequently in situations where it is awkward or frowned upon to get out my phone to adjust my aids.

I have an apple watch 10 and the Philips Hearlink 9050’s (Oticon Intent) from Costco. The Philips Hearlink app works on my watch - I can change volume, program, mute. Also get warnings re battery and loud environment on the watch.

I almost never use the Oticon app to mess with my Oticon Intent 1s. I just use the buttons on the aid. Pretty much only time I look at the app is to get a fast look at the power state. I’m debating an 11, just struggling with the plain or the cellular as the watch won’t talk with my . A real first world problem!

I have the S10 without cellular, Oticon OPN S2, and the iPhone 14 Pro. As long as the watch is within Bluetooth range of the phone, I can answer the phone on the watch, and use the watch microphone with the sound in my hearing aids. Very convenient.

I got an Apple watch 10 a few days ago and I really love it, but I have found that it does complicate the use of the iphone app. I often wander away from my phone and then if I try to access the hearing aid adjustments on my watch both the watch and the phone loose the hearing aid connection. The cure seems to be to come back into iphone range and then turn my aids off and then on again to reconnect. I had read that the Oticon app is the weakest of the major brands. I love the aids, but the app can be frustrating! In a pinch I am finally learning to adjust my aids with the buttons as well.

The watch and iPhone have to be within Bluetooth range of each other for the companion app to do any changes to the aids. The app on the watch actually talks to the app on the iPhone and the app on the iPhone actually talks to the aids.

Thank you, I totally agree with your explanation! I am new to hearing aids and adjusting to the app/watch limitations is a learning process! However, the more I use them the better I am getting at managing them. I just have to learn to not leave my phone sitting rooms away and then open the watch app.
