Yes, hard shell mould with vent. The connected tubing hole is open with no . In the four years I’ve used aid, neither my audiologist nor Phonak has offered wax guards. No problem, but in the past, similar aids came with small white wax filters to replace periodically.

I’ve the same, no needed
just clean and wash the acrylic ear moulds regularly and dry- you can use teeny bottle brush to clean any wax that gets into tube, less maintenance

Also comes down to how much earwax someone produces. When I was younger, I could go three to five years without having earwax removed. Now it’s once a year, or I pay the price of ear can blockage. Since no filter is offered, it looks like once-a-week brushing is on the menu.

I also have custom acrylic ear molds and was astonished when I was told they didn’t need . I can produce a lot of wax! But between using that little brush, daily, and using a Jodi Vac (hearing aid vacuum) on occasion, everything is simple and far easier than when I was using rubber tips with wax guards.

My aids with custom vented moulds don’t have . What I once thought were filters are actually sound dampers.
I understand that the reason is that with this type of aid, the electronics are too far from the ear canal to be likely to contaminated by wax.
I use an interdent brush to clean the mould (those tiny bottle brush type tools used instead of dental floss).
