The audiologist saw my and said I’d benefit from longer wires since (I assume) my glasses rubbed on them. Vivtone lists them – 1cm longer than standard - but they’re out of stock. It’s no matter, they’ll be relegated to backup duty when I get better HAs.
That prompts a question about wire length options with the various web-based hearing aid offerings; Sennheiser All Day or Jabra Enhance are my likely choice. So how does user selected / fitted HAs determine whether longer wires are needed? Does it have to do with glasses and interference? My Vivtones don’t sit flat behind my ears, giving me the Dumbo look. They are standard (?) sized HAs – larger than the way-too-expensive Resound HAs the audiologist tried to sell me. Perhaps wire length is less important with the micro sized HAs?
Asking because it’s likely with Medicare and no HA coverage, we’ll opt for web-based self-programmed options.
TIA.
