@PhoebeY do your products always transmit using the low 24kbit/s bitrate which hearing aids support?
A lot of other Auracast transmitters use 48kbit/s and that’s currently not supported by hearing aids.

The latest Jabra app has an function. You press he button on the iPhone app and it searches for an Auracast signal. Unfortunately, I haven’t found one anywhere in my local area. An Auracast signal. I don’t attend church nor go to the movies.

I contacted them about the bitrate. They support both 24k and 48k.
It would be good if the aids also supported both rates. I assume this is not possible with a firmware update but would require a new chip. Or am I wrong?

Yes, @wtolkien Within each transmitter, we have two switchable modes, 48K mode for normal headphones and 24K mode for hearing aids use.

That’s good to know, thanks!
How do you switch between bit rates? I looked at the manual for the voyager, but didn’t see anything.
Also, is it possible to set a password for the stream?

The current Voyager on the market is the first batch. You need to DFU for hearing aids use. We can also send you a hearing aids version if you put that clear in order. From second batch onwards, you will be able to do a double click to switch between 24/48K. The same as our C82 Aura, the USB-C dongle.
As for the password, not at the moment for Voyager. But we will provide a firmware update for that soon. @wtolkien

By the way, we’ve seen a lot of confusion from hearing aid users about and . Just shared a short article that explains the difference – might be helpful! @wtolkien @Flyboybob @loopster @user990 @tenkan @Baltazard @NormPete @RSW @Baltazard @d_Wooluf

By the time becomes widespread, the Jabra E/Pro 30s will be completely out of date. ![]()

Yeah we know the basics as we’ve discussed it so many times though out the forum, you could use the search button from right here on hearingtracker to find them, but thanks for sharing, it’s quite interesting that your company and one other are now actively supporting the forum, now if we could just get the other manufacturers including from SIG as well…now that would help sort out a lot more confusion regarding future LEA and capabilities.

If we could get hearing aid makers talking about and that would be super. As opposed to vague promos on LinkedIn saying how great it’s going to be in some far-off undefined future.

I have been updated to version 1.39 but I still don’t see any function for aura cast on my jabra app. Weird.

If you open the app and then click on more, there is a switch for turning the assistant on. (At least there is on mine.)

I have an extra line with the option. I am on android. I see you are using an iPhone, perhaps that’s the difference, though I thought people on this forum with iPhones had the assistant.

I thought I read where a 48k bit rate would use up the battery too fast in a hearing aid, since folks need an all day charge when using their hearing aid.

I was thinking of when there are broadcasts in public spaces. If some of these are at 48k bitrate, we won’t be able to access them with our as is. But perhaps I am being to optimistic about auracast adoption😀

I deleted the app and reinstalled on to my iPhone. Went through the process of pairing without any issues. Still no aura cast feature on the “more” page or anywhere else for that matter…
