So if I remove the filter, I have to clean the hook regularly!?
Is there a way to clean that filter and add it again?
If I make a hole in the filter, will the hearing aid work properly?

The white ball is not a filter. It is a sound damper.
But it does collect moisture if the aids are not but in a dryer often.
If you take the white damper out of the hooks please tell your audiologist on your next visit. In the Phonak Target software there is a box that needs to be selected for this change.

My recommendation is to remove this damper. I did on my aids.

Your ear hooks can be purchased with or without these dampers.

Hmm, I’m a bit confused now!
I don’t have audiologist! I can go to Phonak only in July!
If I remove the damper, What kind of change I need to do in Target? (I have Target on my laptop)
Will the hearing aid work properly then? Will I need to clean the hook every day?

In target in the section that domes and molds are entered. Look for ear hook damper. It’s an acoustic change.
This change is very subtle, probably won’t notice it. It does allow a little more gain to your ears.

As far as maintenance without the damper, it will be the same as before. I do recommend getting a hearing aid dryer and use it daily. This has nothing to do with the damper it’s just good hearing aid preventive maintenance.

I tried to clean the damper, the hook and the tube as I could.
The hearing aid is working but I’m not sure the sound is as good as it was!
I will check it out tomorrow! Also, I will try to remove the damper tomorrow and make this change in Target.

Phonak HE11 vs HE11 680 Earhooks
I was told by my audiologist that the two are exactly the same except the HE11 680 earhooks have a white filter for moisture. He said it also decreases the volume slightly. I told him that moisture never has been an issue with me and that I preferred the HE11. However, the aids came with the HE11 680. But he said the white filters can easily be removed and said the hooks are exactly the same otherwise. Is he correct?

Phonak Naida P90-UP suddenly drops in volume and speech clarity
Been using Phonak Naida P90 UP for 6, 7 months with good results. Then all of a sudden right aid out of the blue drops in volume and speech clarity. Incoming sound is distorted, as if autosense no long works. Right aid sent to Phonak repair only to work great for a week then revert back to same problem. All incoming sounds at half volume with speech clarity gone. What I know is not the problem is moisture since I use a dryer every night and actually don’t wear aids outside in hot weather wh…

The rubber blower helps in daily maintenance. Keeping it clean and dry. It is not a substitute to a electrical dryer. Check out the online to by one.

There is some brusher to clean the microphones openings and “a bit stiff and thin plastic rods” at the bottom of the photo.

Not necessarily every time, because the hook on the housing side is relatively tightly screwed.

I think it’s more important to detache the soft tubing from the earhook and (if it is possible, because of hard plastic elbow) earmold.

It is in the particular manufacturer of the desiccant recommendations, but there is some deviations depenting of the environment and the speed at which the hearing aid absorbs moisture.

This is a good hearing aid dryer, reportedly safe for probable future hearing aids with rechargeable batteries. Please ensure that the device is safe for rechargeable batteries (Li-ion ones don’t ‘like’ high temperatures). You can ask about it during your visit at Phonak.

I have a Breeze Dry & Store for my sound processor, but it makes 42-45°C, which is rather too high for any batteries. I can detach the battery compartment in case of sound processors and insert only the processing unit part, but rechargeable hearing aids don’t have that possibility.

It is important to remove the 675 battery from your Naidas and keep the battery doors open when you put your hearing aids into the drying/dryer compartment.

Another solution (but expensive) is Redux Home dryer.
