I’m scheduled to get my Pro 30s mid September.
I am wondering how the Bluetooth to cellphone works when you pass the phone over to someone else without to carry on a conversation and taking the phone back yourself.
With my Phonak Brio’s and the Compilot II on, I can be connected hands free using Bluetooth.
If I pass the phone over, I turn off the Compilot II and the call stays active for the other person taking the phone. When they are done, I can turn the Compilot II back on and I can continue the call.
How does this work with Pro 30s?
I imagine it can be done using the bluetooth settings on the phone and making the HAs active or not.

Thats how i do it. I just toggle bt off, then on, when needed and they connect almost instantly with my S24fe.
Not sure what a compilot is.

On my Pixel there’s a screen that you get when you’re on a phone call. You tap a button on that screen to choose where you want the audio to go: phone, speaker or hearing aids. I don’t have Jabras but I don’t think that makes a difference. This is totally irrelevant to you of course if you have an iphone.

The Compilots are/were intermediary Bluetooth devices that connected to Phonak .
Think of it as sort of a Bluetooth Access point similar to a wifi access point. It will connect stuff like a TV streamer, cell or landline phone, to your HA via Bluetooth.

Yes, thats how mine are too, a symbol on the call screen. Or i can pull down the right side of any screen and just toggle bt off.

Thanks for posting this video. I usually catch Brian’s videos but missed this one.

It’s not the hearing aid manufacturers… it’s the design of Bluetooth & which phones do which version well…. Explained here:
Thanks for posting the link to the video. It helps.
I picked up my Jabra Enhanced Pro 30’s 11 days ago on Sept. 15th. They started out sounding a bit sharp but I’m adjusting to that. There are a couple of tweaks that I will ask the Audi to do on my 1st recall visit. I’ve been trying to test out some the features, but it has been a nightmare. I was ready to return them at the 48 hour mark.
I’ve had major issues with connectivity to my Pixel 7 Pro and the Enhanced Pro App. There are constant disconnections & re-connections. My notification sound is a single guitar strum, with 278 app notifications in a day, it sometimes sounds like I am listening to a rhythm guitar. One night they woke the wife up with disconnection notices. The aids were in the charger and the phone was 3’ away.
I see the Pixel 7 Pro is on the “compatible list” with a couple of asterisks. It appears that I will likely need to update my phone to get a consistent connection. I am looking at the Pixel 10.
Here are my current specs:
Enhance Pro 30 micro - rechargeable (Micro RIE 60S) - (No optional M&RIE receivers which add a third microphone in the ear canal to deliver the most natural sound quality)
Pixel 7 Pro (2022) Hardware version MP1.0 model GP4BC - Android 16, security updated September 5, 2025
Specs say Bluetooth 5.2 LE
Enhance Pro App - Ver 1.41.0 (47487) - Last update July 8, 2025 - App suggests Bluetooth 5.3 with LE audio
The Audi only provided 2 programs: All-Around & Hear in noise. The weird thing is every now and then a different program “ Audio Streaming “ pops up.
I’ve got another 10 days before my recall visit to further test them out. These posts above will help.
Without the app on the phone these are no better than dumb HA’s
A short press on the right ear increases the volume and a short press on the left ear decreases the volume
I’ve done some short tests and I can turn Bluetooth off and use the as “dumb aids”. With the ability to adjust volume using short presses I can further test how I can hear. I can manually turn Bluetooth back on and off to try to make any changes with the app. I won’t be able to use the phone without a Bluetooth connection though.
If anybody has a newer model Pixel and doesn’t have all these problems, I’d love to hear about your specs. IOW, how new do I have to go to get things working.

A short press on the right ear increases the volume and a short press on the left ear decreases the volume
That could have been initially set up differently. Short press can also be set to raise and lower volume. Long press van change program.

Yes that is what I said in the original post where the quote was taken from. My original post above.
The default, at least for Jabra 30s, is a long press on either ear changes the program.

I’ll just mention that a long push on the left aid can be programed to activate a TV Streamer+ (or TV Streamer II). Much simpler than going through the App, which was the way mine were initally set.
I don’t have a Pixel, but my Samsung S25 phone works very well with the Jabra 30s.

The S21 does not support Bluetooth LE Audio like the newer ones… 23 onwards.
The Hearing Club video really stresses that the issue could be with Bluetooth . Looking into Bluetooth I stumbled across something on Wikipedia that caught my attention.
On 31 December 2019, the Bluetooth SIG published the Bluetooth Core Specification version 5.2. The new specification adds new features: 1.Enhanced Attribute Protocol (EATT), an improved version of the Attribute Protocol (ATT) | 2.LE Power Control | 3.LE Isochronous Channels | 4.LE Audio that is built on top of the new 5.2 features. LE Audio was announced in January 2020 at CES by the Bluetooth SIG. Compared to regular Bluetooth Audio, Bluetooth Low Energy Audio makes lower battery consumpt...
Which goes on to say that Samsung used software updates to get Bluetooth LE audio and .
in August 2023 Samsung announced support for Auracast through a software update for their Galaxy Buds2 Pro1 and two of their TVs.
If my Pixel 7 Pro has 5.2 and the Enhance Pro app is showing find a broadcast (Auracast) button that all I might need is a tweak to the software to get these hearing aids working with my phone?

I went to Costco in December 2024 and was fitted with the Jabra Enhanced Pro 20 hearing aids. These were my first hearing aids and I chose the Jabra’s based on the recommendation of Brian from his YouTube channel, “Hearing Club”. After nearly 180 days I returned them for the Jabra Enhanced Pro 30s which were the latest and greatest version. When I first got the 20s they gave me four sets of and a few rubber domes. The fitter told me that this was a one year supply. She told me that Costco can only give you a one year supply at a time. Unfortunately, I was changing the wax guards every few days and when I brought them to Costco for cleaning, Iwas told they were very dirty. Finally Costco sent them back for repair which involved replacing the hearing aid shells with new ones that have extremely small microphone filters. When the Extended Pro 30 version came out in May, I traded the 20s for the new 30s.
The improvements in the sound quality was amazing, sounds are not as sharp sounding, and the noise reduction is also greatly improved. I had to have my Costco fitter change the, “Hear in Noise”, to the selection in their Smart Fit software to, “Dynamic Focus”, too enable the full , (Deep Neural Network) (Artificial Intelligence), noise reduction. However, once that’s adjusted, you must remember to select the, “All Around”, function or your hearing aid app. If you leave the app in the “Hear in Noise” selection, then the battery will run down before the day is finished. Obviously, the DNN AI function, “Hear in Noise”, uses more power than the normal, “Hear all Around” function.
It has taken me over nine months to be completely happy with my hearing aids. Noises such as putting on a polo shirt while wearing the hearing aids sounded like thunder. The sound of scratching my head near my ears also sounded much too loud. Those and other normal sounds have finally become just normal everyday sounds. The hearing aid journey has been long but eventually my better half doesn’t sound like she’s mumbling and I turn down the volume on the TV to more normal settings. The Jabra app, now has built in for the iPhone, but I haven’t found an Auracast broadcast to try it out.

I’m a little confused by what you are saying.
I understood the “Hear in Noise” used the chip.
I’m even more confused after reading this thread:
https://forum.hearingtracker.com/t/jabra-enhance-pro-30-vs-resound-vivia-9/104929
Are you possibly calling “intelligent focus” “dynamic focus”?

Not sure I understand what you are saying.
With my S21 & the App I am able to listen to an broadcast streamed from my auracast device connected to my TV. So if you have the App loaded on your Pixel then you can listen to Auracast via the App.
With my S25, auracast capable, I can listen to an auracast broadcast without using the Jabra App as the phone can route it to my Pro 30. Which is how I use them right now as my S25 is unable to connect to the App due to it running Android 16. So with my S25 I can’t use the finer points of the App like adjusting for wind noise etc within each setting.

Yes, I think, if memory serves me correctly, my Costco hearing aid fitter told me that in the Smart Fit software it’s called, “Dynamic Focus”.
