I have a friend who purchased his hearing aids directly from Jabra and they program them online using his computer his charging case connects to his computer USB and they can program the hearing aids. Is there any chance that smart fit would be able to do that?

I think they connected through his Phone … not charging case, and yes the aud. can program them through the phone for you … It does require the first fitting face to face to set up the phone connection.
Jabra direct may use a different charging case … I have not heard of that … But …

I think they must have a different charging case. He told me he connects his charging case to his laptop via USB and they remote in and they can program his hearing aids for him. I just tried doing it with my charging case and got nowhere.

Not enough information. Are these prescription hearing aids or (Over the counter). If prescription they will likely need a Windows PC, NoahLink Wireless and programming software. If they’re OTC they’re likely adjusted through an app.

If your friend bought them online, then they are the variant. From what people reported here, those can not be programmed using Smartfit.

Hearing aids can’t be programmed when they are in the case. You can’t program Jabras through the charger.
My guess is changes are pushed through using the Jabra app for hearing aids.

The Jabra charger does have built-in Bluetooth. It’s at least technically possible that it could be used for programming:

The hearing aids aren’t updated through the computer, though. They are being updated through a smartphone app.

All I can tell you is the case has to be connected usb to his laptop and the can be programmed remote.

Costco in the UK are giving the choice of a assistive device with a purchase of the Pro 30’s. It can be a TV streamer, so hope it’s the Nordic powered TV streamer+

They can be programmed remotely through SmartFit but need to have a GN login. DIYers can’t program remotely.

People need to distinguish between “Jabra Enhance Select”, which are aids, and “Jabra Enhance Pro”, which are prescription aids.
The Pros need Smartfit and Noahlink for programming, but all bets are off with regards to how the Selects are programmed. I would have guessed via Smartphone app, but if GN also supports programming via charger attached to a computer (and some other non-Smartfit software), why not?
As per the linked press release from Nordic, the charger does have Bluetooth support.

That device is called “TV Streamer +” , so that’s what people should look out for, not the word “Nordic”.
