I just bought the Jabra Pro 30’s at Costco. I asked this question of both the audiologist at Costco and called the Jabra support number, and neither knew the answer.
China is requiring all external “power banks” (like the one I use for my phone) to be certified in China as is shown by a “CCC” logo (China Compulsary Certification) to even bring them on an airplane. They do search for them via x-ray in both your baggage and carry-ons and confiscate them if they are not certified (this actually happened to a friend at Beijing airport just this week). The “charging case” for the Pro 30’s acts like an external power bank. It has lithium batteries inside and an external electronic device.
Does anyone know whether or not they power bank restrictions apply to a medical device like a hearing aid charger? I asked google and google thought it would be restricted if it didn’t have the CCC logo, but I couldn’t find a source that it used.
And I know I can buy a standard charger without battery for the GN Resound Vivia and it would work and be legal, but lack the convenience of the battery charger so I’d prefer to use the charger that came with my hearing aids.
I will be in China in October.
