Rexton and Signia use slightly different versions of the Connexx software. The features are similar, but not identical.

Tue hearing use Rexton flavoured Connexx, I don’t see much difference in anything but name in Connexx.

Today I ended up ordering the Truhearing 7 IX since it was only $2,000 vs Signia IX which is $4,500. Since same chip same technology I just hope that the Truhearing 7 IX is not missing anything.

The opinion of many on the forum is that they are identical. However, I have not had the chance to open any up to see if the internal components are the same. The software and external parts, however, are going to be similar.

Yep, that is what I mean. Same thing goes with Resound Vivia 9 and Jabra Enhance Pro 30. I hear they are identical, but then get mixed info from other Audiologist that say they are not. But I just want to make sure I get my money’s worth.

An audiologist who is selling premium hearing aids is unlikely to admit that something that sells for 1/4 the price they are selling is the same thing. I think this ranges from self imposed ignorance to deceptive self interest. If the audiologist is exceptional, the cost difference could very well be worth it, but it’s their knowledge and skill that’s worth the extra money, not the hearing aid tech.

They are the same, you don’t really think TrueHearing make their own do you? but it’s well established they are the same in all but name.

Well as MDB says they have a vested interest in making up this “ illusion” all the audiology clinic’s say the same thing about Costco, it’s just scaremongering and nonsense of course.

That is such a bizarre conclusion to draw from what I said.

Yes, I am very aware of the comments, posts, and links to proprietary datasheets that suggest they’re identical. However, is there a problem with opening up a couple of these to see what’s inside?

I have no problem with that. I want to make sure that you know we get our moneys worth and not lose any benefits from the premium hearing aid that they claim are similar.

Sorry but it certainly seemed you were saying they couldn’t be “identical” and must be something else, so you actually believe that TrueHearing is using proprietary circuit board and chip?
It just seems your trying to steer or sow some seeds of doubt.
However, is there a problem with opening up a couple of these to see what’s inside?
Honestly this a little bizarre in itself, what would you expect to see?

No @tenkan I don’t think TruHearing manufacturers their own hearing aids with their own proprietary chips or whatnot. I base this on what I have seen in my own office. But the reasoning that because a few components are the same that the whole thing is required to be part-for-part identical is a-scientific. It would be irresponsible of me to accept a claim at face value or with incomplete evidence. This is why audiologists talk about verification a lot.
As far as “seeds of doubt”, you yourself doubt the opinion of audiologists. I’m fairly certain you’ve commented somewhere that “nobody cares” what audiologists say. Doubting or questioning someone’s opinion is not inherently wrong, and audiology and virtually all other health sciences are pretty much predicated on doubt. In this case, I’m just doubting (and not even in a drastic way) the claims of a hearing aid manufacturer.
