Not ever going back now to batteries that always ran out on inconvenient moments.
mine have almost never run out unexpectedly, once I figured out the life span.
I purposely upgraded from the 312’s that the Audi was going tpoo put me in, to the 13…twice the battery life at the same price
I figured out that I can get about 8 days out of the batteries, even with fairly heavy streaming
So I picked a day, and made a habit to just change the batteries every Saturday morning.
I’ve forgotten a time or two in the past seven years and had it surprise me late on Saturday…
and a few times I pushed through some batteries that I knew were old, and they failed prematurely…not unexpected
I’m a big fan of big batteries
and I’m totally opposed to rechargeables. I’ve said that I would only go recharge when they get at least around 2 days on a charge, AND they have the ability to quick charge without a dedicated proprietary charger…such as through induction. My thinking is that if I’m ever caught on a trip and forget my charger….or I’m just caught with bad charger placement overnight or whatever, then I can still get a useable say 6-8 hour charge in the time it takes to take a shower and get ready….
at that point I’ll be ok with it.
That said, I learned from folks here when belly-aching about this before, that the new aids have more powerful processors, and I guess the idea is that they need more power than disposables can provide…so it’s not as much about long life as it is about lack of power
I don’t know if that’s fact but it seems plausible…and so I’m sort of coming around to accept the new normal. In fact the expected lifespan of a charge is getting close…and I’ve got no choice now anyway, so I just ordered a set yesterday.
I’m not 100% excited about that, but it is what it is!
