Battery life of Phonak Sphere

Has anyone else found the battery life on the Phonak Audéo Infinio Sphere I90 troublesome?

I recently bought the I90 Sphere and have been using them a lot in a busy city environment. On days involving crowded streets, public transport, restaurants and other noisy situations, I’m finding the batteries drain much faster than I expected. I’ve actually had to carry my old hearing aids as backups because I’m worried the Phonaks won’t make it through the day.

I have significant hearing loss, so I’m wondering whether that, combined with the Sphere speech-in-noise processing, is contributing to the higher battery use.

I’d really like to hear from other I90 Sphere users: how many hours are you actually getting from a full charge in normal real-world use, particularly on busy or noisy days? And has anyone found the battery life noticeably worse when the Sphere processing is working hard?

Inserting in profile settings could help with accuracy of advices provided here.

For me, the most battery draining condition - manual Spheric Speech in Noise program maxxed out - works 11-11.5h on 100% charge.

Perhaps you have problem with constant, subclinical acoustic feedback due to too large vent or not proper fit, I don't know.

Or your HAa needs simply warranty evaluation.

Perhaps your set too low threshold to activate Spheric Speech in Loud Noise subprogram in Autosense and you're constantly in that program. However it shouldn't be activated when you don't talk with someone at that moment.

I have the Spheres i90 with the firmware update to Ultras and the battery life is fantastic over 30 hours with heavy stream.

I am in the trial period with a pair of Eon 90's. Today I was never in Spheric mode at all, only took 1 phone call, and less that 1 hour (way less) of streaming music - no TV or video streaming. At this time, after 14 hours of use, my right is at 25% and the left one is at 51%. I have had these for 1 week and most days are very similar to this.So much for improved battery life. Maybe I have a faulty battery, I don't know if the audiologist is able to test the battery. Actually, this is not a huge problem for me as I can easily give the HA's a few minutes on the charger at some point during the day. But it is not what I expected.

I have just checked - I have low threshold of activation of Spheric Speech in Noise subprogram in Autosense (5 instead of default 10, maybe I overdid it) and still don't have issues with battery life).

I think you may have a faulty aid or battery which does happen. Report it to your audiologist and they'll probably send the device away for checking and give you a warranty replacement if its faulty.

My audiologist told me to expect a difference in battery drain from the right to the left because of the way that the right aid picks up to Bluetooth signal and then shares it wilh the left (or something like that). So a difference in the two sides may be not an issue. But they both drain much faster than I expected. I wouldn't expect both batteries to be bad if it was just a faulty battery. But I will be asking the audiologist about this.

I'm noticing occasional high battery usage on my left Infinio Sphere (Ultra update applied). Interestingly this started when I changed from a Moto Edge 20 Pro (non Bluetooth LE) to a Google Pixel 10 Pro (with Bluetooth LE and features). The left aid is set in Target as the the Bluetooth side. The difference in battery drain has been 10-12% higher on the left aid. I will try changing so the right aid becomes the Bluetooth side as a troubleshooting step.

Well, after 2 days of keeping a chart of my battery drain each hour I was concerned about battery life. But now, after the third day, 14-15 hours of use each day, my batteries were at 61% (left) and 50% (right). That seems to be acceptable battery performance to me. I use my aids about the same each day, maybe a half hour in spheric mode, 1 hour of streaming, and usually in 'automatic' all day. I don't know why it suddenly got better after previously getting so low (15-20%) by the end of the day.

After setting the right aid as the Bluetooth side, it is now showing a faster rate of drain. More investigation to do.

Interesting as these are fresh of the press so still in trial stage. Currently just want to go back to my old ones but when these are working they leave the old ones for dead. I used to be able to put my hearing aids in for the day and forget but these new ones have really put a downer on my time away.
