I called my provider today and they want $495.00 to install the update.
It is a rip-off. Such a shame

Would you share with us this location where your provider is located? The city would be ok as well.

How did the advertised improved Bluetooth pairing process improve?
I don’t recognize a difference in the myphonak app.

Hey Jordan, even if you get just the firmware update and NOT a new chip re-programmed, I’d sure be interested in your honest feedback on “Does it make a difference for speech comprehension in NOISY places”. You seemed very impressed with the Infinio’s ability to clarify speech in noise, so if this firmware update improves it … well that would be very interesting to know.
I am SO enamored with my little 312s that I hadn’t considered going rechargeable again - even with the Infinio’s speech improvements. But at some point I may have to trade off ACTIVE, easy travel lifestyle now with disposable batteries for BETTER speech comprehension with a rechargeable.

It’s better. Tested at three football (soccer) matches now and a few pub situations and I can talk to my son no problem at all. It’s pretty special. Feels noticeably better to me
As for battery life today after all of that and some streaming I’m currently at 45% and that’s been in 6 hours of noise.
Yesterday without the noise I was at 62% at the end of the day.

WOW that is impressive!! I am so happy for your situation. Granted, my is flatter than a line drive to 3rd base, but I do SUPER well with the older Lumity Life 312s. That is why I still find myself daydreaming about a scenario like yours: LOUD places and NO prob hearing those at the table. With or without a Roger, with or without my aids in “Speech in Loud Noise” it’s still not perfect.
My older Lumity Life rechargeables gave me 15 hours MAX per day of use. That was also unacceptable. I wonder if these newer Sphere/Infinios have improved their battery usage, too?

30-35h before upgrade, assuming no use of Spheric Speech in Noise program. When using the manual Spheric program, it was 6.5-8 h before upgrade.
I haven’t had time to check it yet how it is after firmware upgrade.

My audiologist is away on vacation until next week. Just about to see if I can get an appointment for next week to get the Ultra upgrade and I will then post my feedback.

I got my update an hour ago. One thing I’ve already noticed is that the Streaming Bluetooth keeps reconnecting after I explicitly disconnect it. I used to keep that connection disconnected until and unless I want it. This is one change I did not want.

I also do seem to have connection issues. Sometimes it connects to the phone, but not the app. Sometimes both

Mine didn’t make any adjustments and I asked multiple times. I did notice right away more gain in the upper frequencies. And at the supermarket, I noticed that the Spheric Speech engaged much more smoothly and without some of the original tinny sound that accompanied Spheric Speech. So far I’ve been very happy with the 11.1 update.

VERY GOOD! Best of luck with the outcome. If anyone can juice the most out of the firmware update it’s YOU, being such a DIYer!

Its a toggle in Devices, Streaming via Bluetooth now (on the App).
I would also recommend unpairing, deleting the app, hard reset of phone, reinstall app and then re-pairing and you will go from three connections to 2

If you Chat GPT the 2.0 Ultra firmware release you:will see that I 90 only benefits marginally because it does not have the DeepSonic chip whereas the Sphere gets a huge benefit. Phonak did a great job building out the platform and using that leading edge AI headroom to fully develop the Sphere. There are three major areas that transform Sphere. Speech clarity, mics following voices in noise as they move around the room. Auto adaptive adjustment using AI’s power with real time changes. Speech and clarity boost and much more. 35% more clear voice and word recognition and even more. Than imagine that the Sphere has 56 hours of battery life with a 4 hour increase in Deepsonic use. So now you will have 11 hrs per day of the most amazing piece of hearing benefit. Now stream, go to a restaurant crank up features on loud highways and at bedtime have a ton of hours left over. I now think that in 2026 LE Bluetooth will be enabled. Auto sense will eliminate much of the need to change, or require programs for need. I tested Intent 1, and I90. With 2.0 arriving I bought Sphere’s before end of the day. Aarp has my oder confirmed.

According to most web gossip, the LE Bluetooth is unlikely before 2027. Quite why Phonak are holding off is a mystery, with Oticon Intent possibly having the edge on this as already out now.

Phonak has never used LE . You are probably thinking about with .
Why they don’t have Auracast? It is not widely deployed yet and very few phones have LE Audio. Probably they are more focused right now on helping people hear better and improving their quality of life . Auracast right now is for early adopters, which is most likely not the majority of their users .
This is why I tell people: don’t buy a tech device for what it can do in the future , buy it for what it can do for you today
