Another trick you can try is long-pressing the volume rocker for about 40 seconds, which will reboot your hearing aids.

Thanks @e1405.. I had previously tried the 40 second reset without luck. Just tried creating a new client and upgrading again and that did not work either. ![]()

Just to clarify: the left hearing aid still won’t upgrade to version 1.3.0, even when it’s in a client file not linked to the right device? If that’s the case, I think your best option would be to contact Oticon.

Strange and unfortunate, so your saying they can’t be used as a pair and are no longer “linked” but otherwise work independently, yeah you don’t want a crash or disconnect while doing firmware updates, but Genie2 stops it so not “corrupted” as such, I’d keep trying to do it for now, shutdown your PC not a reboot but a complete shut down, fully charge and have good internet connection and try again..

I would try to connect both aids again, disable Bluetooth on PC, on your smart devices, plug out the internet router, the update should be in genie 2 itself.
just in order to minimize wireless noise for the firmware update.

I spent all day trying to figure out how to reduce Bluetooth noise around my desk. “Forgot” the on my iPhone, Mac and iPad. Also turned off the TV adapter that was nearby. Ended up powering down a nearby Mac and powering down my iPhone even though i had forgotten the HAs on those. I cant say for sure if that is what did it but it finally worked!
@Gerhard_R , Many thanks for your input. Also thanks @tenkan and @e1405 for your helpful suggestions.
Hopefully this helps others. I cant imagine this is not a relatively common issue.

That is why I would never chance doing my own updates. Way too much of interference in my area including a cell tower within a mile. In the clinic my audiologist does the updates in a grounded mash cage.

Yeah, in the old days you would never think of doing a firmware update over the air. To Oticon’s credit, I tried to do this at least 20 times before it worked and the never bricked even after doing the 40 second reset multiple times. A lot to be said about their error handling. Next time I will move the one PC I have with Genie to a quieter spot.

hi, i did the 1.3.0 update about 4 days ago. All went smoothly with no issues. I have not used yet, but am very happy that that feature is enabled now. the companion app on android now has the option to connect to an auracast broadcast. My phone has the ability to make an auracast broadcast, i am eager to try this new feature.
Also i had to reset my easy LE adapter after the update.
BTW, i am in the USA

@Um_bongo I tried this as per the on screen instructions when the upgrade fails. No joy. The more I think about this the more I think it may have to do with how close my wireless router is to the desk. In any case glad it’s over with.

I guess if the signal density is really high near the router, then the tiny amount of signalling power from the aid is always going to struggle to be ‘heard’.

I have (new) Intent 2 in Australia - the app shows version 1.1.0 and “No new updates in the app”.
Is there something I am missing?

I do not believe the companion app shows the firmware update available. It did not in my case. The Genie 2 software 2025.2 includes the 1.3.0 firmware. when your provider connects your hearing aids with genie 2 the firmware should be available for update.

Hi there @musicguy49 great your giving a go, do read the user guides as it’s very helpful for setting up the first time and don’t forget you’ll need the Noahlink wireless programming device.
