Your mention of UK VPN is what led me to say I hadn’t used a VPN. ![]()
I’m not in a hurry. When it gets released, it gets released.

After updating the LE Easy adapter from Oticon isn’t working properly, it only streams to my left side. Has anyone the same problem?

I saw an Oticon press release that the Zeal hearing aids will be released in the U.S. in early 2026. I believe I read somewhere that the release of the new version of Genie 2 is tied to the Zeal hearing aids, and that the upgrade won’t be released in the U.S. until January.

Yes every new model or platform requires a new software update.

Understood, but what I was trying to say is that the article I read indicated that, since the Zeal will not be released in the US until early next year, the update to Genie 2 (and hence, the Intent firmware upgrade to 1.3.0) will not be released in the US until January 2026.

Ah Yeah got it, ok so one wouldn’t think you’d need to wait for a new model to be released before a new firmware update to an older model, but couldn’t you just install Genie2 using another country instead of USA, like UK or other european country? Some others are using a VPN.

Hi Tenkan,
Yes, I saw that. I haven’t had a chance to try that yet. I was just replying to let the people in the US who are trying to find it know that Oticon might not be releasing here in the US until after the new year. If I get a chance, I will try the VPN route.

have you tried repairing them? is there a FW update in genie 2 for accessories? make sure you or somebody who programs that checks on that.
link doesn’t work, check the easy LE guide on oticon website.

The Phillips software and firmware are available. Delaying the flagship seems an odd choice but could be what is happening. Perhaps there is a glitch in Genie or the servers it accesses as Genie did not update right away with prior updates?

The are testing out the firmware in Europe and the UK, and Phillips before releasing it here. The USA Veterans Administration will not okay it for use in Veterans hearing aids until the firmware has been proven to be as free of bugs as possible.

Ok, I tried the VPN route, connected first to the UK and when that didn’t work I tried a Germany server. That didn’t work either. Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to wait.

Oh that’s strange, others are saying they got it using VPN, although from experience not all VPN are made equal!

Just got mine updated, but didn’t properly work with the floocast as an device. It can connect but only get mono sound. Companion app does not seem to like connecting to it

I was able to connect to Oticon Global via VPN to the UK and download the updated Genie software. Many thanks to flashb1024 for sharing the idea!

No, it sounds great for me with my windows desktop & laptop. I didn’t even have to repair it.
Use a paper clip or SIM tool to reset it, and put it in pairing mode, and reboot your Intents.

@flashb1024 @Kent15 is it possible to give a hint which VPN to use in case others have issues.

I’ve been using Express VPN for a few years due to NHL hockey addiction and to overcome geoblocking on some streaming sites. OK, I do sail the high seas, occasionally, Aye Matey.
Proton and TunnelBear VPN are free, and highly rated.

@kent15 Was the 1.3.0 firmware available after you connect the Intents using Genie 2025.2? And if it was, were you still VPNd in? To which country if you don’t mind me asking?
Reason I ask is that I was able to install Genie 2025.2 by downloading the full package while on VPN from Oticon.global but the 1.3.0 firmware was not available. I was not VPNd in when I ran 2025.2 so that could explain why.
I had assumed that firmware updates were bundled inside of Genie but it now seems that is not the case. I’m just trying to understand how this works more than to do the firmware update early.
Many thanks.
