you shouldn’t have to repair, once out of range and back in.

try to fresh the sound source, i.e. youtube video, press f5.

or press once on the pair button if the green LED isn’t blinking. blinking means reconnect, leave it at that.

blink every 10 sec means standby, in this case press once.

If all else fails unplugging and replugging helped me.

No, I just did a quick test to make sure it worked, but haven’t tried to check range.

Hopefully, with Auracast it should be improved over BLE, or Classic.

C82 has two versions - C82 LEA and C82 Aura. I assume you used the Aura version, correct? You can do DFU to switch between.

Yes, C82 is not recognized by PC as Bluetooth but it is a USB sound card wireless streamer.

As for reconnect after disconnection, you should not have too much touble either. If still encounter difficulty, pls contact our support and we will help.

Very glad that the Auracast family is growing. We are building more Auracast accessories for hearing aids, from microphone to all sorts of adapters, also asssitive listing receivers. As a hearing impaired myself, i am glad that Auracast opened a more flexible / affordable door for us.

Thanks MarkS. When you use the C82 Aura or the FlooGoo FMA 120 on a laptop do you have to enter a password every time you want to connect or do they just automatically connect?

Both devices have the option to encrypt the Auracast Broadcast with a password or alternatively you can opt not to encrypt the Auracast Broadcast which means you (or anyone else with an Auracast transmitter) can connectwithout needing a password

I don’t use the encryption option given that Auracast is still relatively new I doubt any of my neighbours have Auracast earbuds/hearing aids but if they do I doubt they will find listening to my TV/tablet/laptop audio very exciting, but it good to know that the option is there needed.

I have tried the encryption option, and it was straightforward to use. Once the password has been entered in the companion app (In my case Resound) then I could disconnect the Auracast Broadcast and then re-connect without re-entering the password providing that the companion app hadn’t been shut down. If the companion app has been closed, then it was necessary to re-enter the password.

I’d like to talk with someone at ReSound about improving the app so it remembers the password for a broadcast. Having to re-enter it every time the app restarts doesn’t feel like good design.

If you’ve tried our FlooCast mobile app, it remembers the password for listened broadcasts, so you don’t need to enter it repeatedly as long as the key hasn’t changed

Hi @MarkS, just for completeness, here’s a screenshot of the switch to Gaming mode. This mode provides ultra-low-latency streaming between the PC and the hearing aids — 35.5 ms total with a Starkey Edge AI.

I noticed it looked like you could flash back and forth but didn’t get to testing it yet so thanks for confirming. Have you found a way to locate the downloaded firmware files so they can be archived?

For the C82 LEA is there still not a password/encryption option? It seems that should be there for privacy. I also have a problem where it wants to pair with the computer and then the dongle does not work properly. I gave up fixing it. Possibly it needs the firmware updated.

LE audio is one on one connection. nobody else can listen in and you don’t need a PW, this is for auracast to broadcast in public and in a small private group.

the C82 LEA connects to peripherals, both a PC and the C82 are central units, they don’t connect to each other.

edit: they both communicate via usb protocol, not via BT LE, they have no wireless connection to each other, they communicate strictly via usb.

for the pairing you should disable your bluetooth on windows, once it is paired the is no pairing anymore, and when you need your windows BT then you can turn it on again.

but this is LE pairing I see no LE input devices. I understand your PC might be pairing classic BT with a keyboard or mouse.

The C82 seems to still have a potential safety issue where it resets to full volume when initially pairing. This can lead to the user being blasted with loud sound. In addition, the volume control seems wonky on Windows. I reported the issues to Avantree and they said it would be addressed. FW v10.7.5 for the C82 LEA still has this problem when paired with a Phonak aid. For me, the device is not usable in this state.

They are on the Avantree website here7

That is just the updater tool, not the firmware files. Or am I missing something?
