Cant turn off tv streamer using aids

As title says, I have the Jabra Pro 30’s and when I want to use the TV streamer I just hold either button on the aids for about 3 seconds and tv streams to aids. But when I want to stop streaming, the only way is to use the app or insert them into the charger for a few seconds. Many times I dont have my phone next to me and inserting into the streamer in the other room is a pain. So for those using Jabra aids and tv streamer, how do you disconnect from streaming? When I press the button to stream, aids make a sound then stream. When I push to stop streaming I hear the same sound, the aids switch to not streaming, then within 5 seconds, they start streaming again. Again, the only way to stop streaming is inserting in the charger or in the app. Tnx

This may be of zero help to you but the Phonak V2 streamer has buttons on it. I use it when I want to stream. Moments later the aids get the sound. I turn it off and moments later no more sound. I don’t touch the aids or app.

Not sure how your Roger is hooked up to your TV? In my house, the Roger is plugged into a pre-amplifier’s “line out” port controlled by a Savant app on my iPad. So, similar to YOU, when I manually take my aids out of streaming mode using the rocker switch on the AIDS, the TV will again start streaming audio after several seconds. That’s because the Savant app is set to keep that port open on the pre-amp unless I turn the option off.

So the only way I can override the default of ON is to manually turn the Roger “off” in my Savant app on the iPad.

Or! I could go to the Roger unit itself and remove the mic from the base and turn that OFF. That would be the low-tech way to do it.

How is your Roger mic connected to your TV?

I have the Resound TV streamer for my Jabra aids. I think Roger is Phonak or Oticon? My streamer connects to TV by optical cable. Its not that big of deal for me to stop streamingin the app but I just thought I would ask since I know many others use Resound/Jabra aids with the TV streamer.

Can you start and stop streaming from your app?

My Cochlear TV streamer is identical to yours. I use the Cochlear app to start and stop streaming. The streamer is set up to power up when the tv is turned on and power off with the TV is turned off.

If the spouse is watching something and I’m not then I don’t wish to hear it via streaming. So I turn it off on the streamer. When I want to stream then I turn it on.
If there wasn’t the button on top then I would probably unplug it and re-plug it.
I’m not a fan of live mics in my house. I don’t use voice activated devices.

Can you change programs via one of the buttons on your Jabras. I can get out of streaming by pressing the top part of the button for 3 seconds, but I think that can be changed at setup via Resound’s fitting software.

Also, my aids return to the previous setting about 5 minutes after they stop receiving a signal from the streamer.

I have WP 10s, and I’ll get new ais soon. If Jabra doesn’t provide a convenient way of controlling the program without the app, I’ll be disappointed and surprised.

My reco is to check with Costco about your problem, or check the manual, and then check with Costco.

Yea, the manual shows to press to stream and press again to stop streaming. And it does stop when I press for 3 seconds but then 5 seconds later it starts streaming again. Guess im stuck using the app to stop streaming. Tnx

I use a smart outlet with a battery remote to power the Phonak TV Connector on and off from my armchair.

First step is to ask your audi what setting he has selected in Target. You can have auto which selects the streamer as soon as you are in range or manual which needs a button press or manual with bleep which warns you that you are in range.

I just set up the HomeSpot BA210 this weekend and found 3 ways to silence the sound while using Audiocast to stream from the TV.

  1. Disconnect the streaming using the Audiocast button in the Enhance Pro App.
  2. Use the Mute Button in the sliders in the Enhance Pro App.
  3. Use the TV remote and pause play. Resume play when ready. Fast Forward & Rewind also will pause the sound until you hit play again.

For my P70T, I just push the top button for 2 seconds (about), this disconnects the streamer, if I want to reconnect, I either use the app, or cycle trough the programs, the other way is to mute the TV, after 35sec. it turns the streamer off (it goes in standby mode), I also use the lower button, this increases the room mic’s volume and reduces the TV sound, this way I can have a better conversation with the better half. Hope it helps.

Due to lack of a rocker button, they need specific programing. Mine are set to activate TV streamer(s) with long push on left side only. Streamer off with long push on right side (only) - same function is used to change programs. [Two long pushes on left side (only) activates second streamer/different TV.]

If second streamer is inactive or out if range (like pushed by accident) they pause a second then revert to first TV Streamer.
