I’ve been trying both the Pro 30 and the 9050 from Costco. Prior to that I their KS-10. I found both of the new hearing aids sounded very loud and tinny. The fitter at Costco played around with lowering the treble and doing other magic. Over several weeks, I’ve gotten used to them and find the crispness and openness of the Pro 30 more to my liking. I stay in the All-around program. The few times I’ve used the Hear in Noise, I haven’t been happy. With my high frequency hearing loss I’ve used Bass Domes and Power Domes. I found the tulip dome made everything too screechy in both the Jabra and Philips hearing aids. There seems to be a lot of adjustment capabilities in both hearing aids, although I’m not convinced the fitter at my Costco is really familiar enough with all the “tools” the hearing aids have to really use them. When you go back, in the next day or two, make sure you let the fitter know your issues. I’m sure they can adjust the volume and soften the impulse settings to give you some relief, if not to fix your problems completely. Last night, messing around online, I came across a couple of videos talking about some of the adjustments that the fitter can make in the Pro 30, in addition to simply lowering the gain (volume). These videos should give you some ideas of what to ask the fitter to try if he/she doesn’t just jump in after hearing your problems and initiate some fixes.
