There are several discussions here about the floogoo USB Bluetooth adapter. And it very affordable compared to the Oticon proprietary devices

I see that if driver-less product. Thanks again for the suggestion. I will look into this product.

However; upgrades to the product does require a computer with a Microsoft Operating System. And I do not have any and will not buy any (* mainy because I do not buy GARBAGE and/or SPYING ON ME products by choice. Using a compatible in a public library is also a be NO for me.

Use someone else’s Windows computer for updates.
You will be hard-pressed to find any other product that supports upgrading on Linux. As of right now, pretty much all / dongles use the same Qualcomm chipset and Qualcomm only provides firmware upgrade software for Windows.
FlooGoo has a native Linux application to setup the dongle - a real plus for Linux users:

We’ll likely add firmware update support for Linux in the future, and I’ll revisit this thread once there’s an update.
Since we added support for Oticon Intent at the end of 2024, the dongles sold on Amazon have already been updated to a version that fully meets the requirements for streaming from a host device. Recent firmware updates mainly focus on adding features for broadcast applications, so if you don’t need those features, there’s no need to update the firmware further.

@user490, I found using a Windows VM for firmware upgrades to be hit-and-miss. Most times it didn’t work for me. On rare occasions it did.
I think the problem is that the USB dongle switches between DFU mode and regular mode. Both have different USB IDs. If the VM doesn’t take possession of the USB dongle again after it switches modes, then the upgrade fails.
I no longer even try using a VM.

Currently Amazon says “we do have any and don’t know when or if we will be getting them.”

No, I can not as I have no windows install stuff and I buy computers with out an OS as I install the Linux that I want ( not with systemd as it is large blot ware attempting to keep a company that owns systemd in business. Linux started live as a UNIX clone which is where I stated back in the 1984 time period. However; I will have to be creating my own distro as too many of them are messing up the GUI desktops to be non-compatable with the Unix desktops.

You may check whether it’s available to order from Amazon US. We can also ship directly from Australia if needed (we accept bank transfers, and customers can pay via local transfer). Please contact our support team if you’d like to proceed.

The KS10 is a rebadged Phonak.
Phonaks have bluetooth classic that allows them connect to anything that has bluetooth. That’s why you can connect them to your Linux box.
Unfortunately, other major brands, like Oticon—with the exception of the Signia BCT—lack Phonak’s universal connectivity and need an accessory to connect to a computer, unless both the hearing aids and the device support Bluetooth .

Indeed. I had the Jabra 30 and to connect them to my laptop running Linux I used the Homespot
BA210.

I use linux with both my Phonak and resound nexia and vivia and also my Jabra 20 and 30’s via bluetooth and also I use a TV connector.
