Download the Hearlink app to your phone.
Find out if your phone supports .
Research - what they are, whether you’d want to use one, and whether there are any enabled venues in your area.
Is music a priority?
Discuss the above with your fitter.

Ask for a copy of your hearing test () so you can post it here.
Have them set up a music program as one your four program settings.
Have them show you how to connect your hearing aids to your phone. If you have a newer Samsung or Pixel phone, have them should how to set the phone to .
Have them show you how to use the two phone app sound equalizers.
If you find the sound too jarring, have them under-fit one of the four program settings. Then over time, you can have them increase the gain in baby steps until you get to your final setting.
Read up on . You may find that an Auracast transmitter to be significantly cheaper then the Phillips TV connection device.
You will probably have more questions. So don’t be afraid to ask or use the search feature.

Make sure they fit them using real ear measurements, it makes a difference.
Also, if is your thing, the Philips Hearsuite software is a free download and easy to find. I thought they did a fine job fitting mine and the follow up has been good. Just like to tweak settings on my own from time to time.

Costco has done real ear measurements for years. However, I suspect that MDL doesn’t know what real ear measurements are and a link would be helpful.

Thank you for the link. I am aware of the need for , but didn’t realize how little I understood it.

Should I mention ear moulds, or try the domes she recommends first? Tomorrow is my first fitting, so it’s totally new to me, except a short trial with an online purchase of diy aids.

Yes absolutely you do, the Noahlink wireless programming device, easy enough to get on eBay.

The first one is almost 10 yrs old, the second one is current. I don’t know why they look so much different. The first time I went, the fitter told me I wouldn’t get much help with aids; seems strange she didn’t try to sell me anything.
I think I like them so far. Only 3 programs set up, General, Speech in noise, Classroom. I used speech in noise while still in the store because I ran into a relative, and struck up a conversation, but was struggling to understand her, so I switched to Speech in noise; I could then understand her, but it is very uncomfortable; sounds like a warehouse ( a very loud warehouse) even when I turned down the volume. On the ride home my wife didn’t have to repeat herself once (in the General setting). Watching tv was only a slight improvement, but enough. I’m gonna have to get something tweaked in the noise setting, or they won’t do a lot of good, because that’s where I need them most. They have me fitted with 8mm open in the right ear, and 8mm dv on the left. I didn’t see that until I was home, so didn’t get to ask her how she choose the domes she did. The left ear actually sounds slightly occluded, I don’t understand why. The first day I wore them noon till 10pm, yesterday morning my left ear felt a little sore, so I removed them, and put them back in after work from 5-ll, this morning so far, so good.
What other programs are available? I would like something directional other than speech in talk. What should I ask her on my next visit? Thanks for the input.
It would only let me add one image, so I’ll send the old another time.
