Costco Hearing Aid Replace or Keep? Phonak or Resound

I purchased the Costco version of Vivia last year, but its performance in noisy environments was poor. Even after several adjustments, it still did not function properly. I sent the unit to the factory twice, yet there was no improvement. Upon further research, I discovered that this issue is inherent to the model. Since Costco now offers the Rise, I am considering whether I should replace it. Additionally, the Resound continues to have Bluetooth issues with my phone and cannot connect to my PC. Phonak’s use of universal Bluetooth should provide better connectivity, but I am unsure whether it supports Bluetooth 5.3 or an older version.(PS. the rating is down below, 2 chips underperform compared to 0 AI chip. Still can’t believe it got 1.3 rating in noise while being the most expensive $1759….)

The Sennheiser Rise isn’t a Phonak Sphere I90, but rather an I90 non-Sphere model (It does not have the dual chip. These are distinct devices with notable differences in performance, especially in noisy environments. The I90 is more comparable to a Lumity with enhanced features.

The Sennheiser Rise has 5.3 and will get the update in the future.

I read somewhere that some of the initial issues with the Jabra 30/Vivia were fixed with a firmware update, and that the M& receivers weren’t ideal for everyone. I think I heard this in one of the HearingClub videos on YouTube.

If you have an Apple device or an Android that does not have then yes, the Sennheiser streaming performance will be significantly better.
