My local Costco still does not have the Soundgear available so I made an appointment at the nearest Costco ( 60 miles away) that had them and today I officially purchased the Soundgear Amp. I liked the sound and really liked the Edge mode plus. My fitting will be July 10th that was the earliest I could get with the HAS that had the most experience programming the Soundgear. One thing I noticed is they ordered the HA with . The trial I did also had closed domes. But I am using open domes with my current HA. I didn’t notice any problems with them in my short trial walking around Costco.
I looked at the Soundgear hearing aids today at a local Costco. Right now I mainly wear an expensive Starkey pair and have a Costco Sabra for a backup. I just am wondering if the quality of the Soundgear aids is as great as the Starkey. I’d like to get something more like those as a backup. Mine are still under warranty so I’d hate to buy any now, but I’d hate to miss out on the Starkey-like quality if Costco decides not to continue with the Pilot. I’m tempted to buy the Soundgear aids as an extra good backup, as something is always happening. One gets lost temporarily, one goes out on amplifications sometimes, etc., etc. At $1,699 a pair this would be a great opportunity to have a faux-Starkey! What does anyone else think?
I don’t believe they are a “faux-Starkey”. My understanding is that they are the same as the Edge from Starkey. I believe the app is different as the SG Amps don’t have the health functions that are part of the Starkey app.
I think Costco will eventually sell the Soundgear in all stores. Jabra and Sennheiser are both up for sale so who knows what is going to happen to them. Starkey is a key manufacturer with a great product. The Soundgear amp is a Starkey Edge 24 HA. As stated before the Soundgear app doesn’t support the heath activities that Starkey has on their app but all the electronics is still there in the Soundgear.
SoundGear Amp is available at Avon, OH Costco. I’m very pleased with the process, although I’m struggling a bit with using the SoundGear app but not streaming all iPhone audio through . for example, I’d prefer to listen to my podcast through my car speakers than directly through HA.
I just checked a Costco today in the south Puget Sound area. No SoundGear Amps. I asked the woman at the counter who said they have been given no word on if or when the Amps might be available in their store.
Today I spoke to Soundgear and also with several Costco stores.
As of Friday, Oct 9,2026 all the Costco stores are carrying and dispensing the Soundgear hearing aids.
In particular it is Soundgear 2.0, which is the same as the Starkey Omega 24.
In comparison to the Soundgear 1.0 (Starkey EDGE AI), “the improvements are small yet meaningful” is what I was told. Noise compression is 360° rather than directional, for example.
I will be returning my Soundgear 1.0 set and will buy the 2.0 set.
The Right-side is having trouble powering up at times.
I just checked Soundgear Web site and they are only showing the Soundgear 2 hearing aids. The info available on the Web site is limited to data sheets and a brief manual of the new hearing aids. I checked my local warehouse online and they still have not listed the Soundgear for sale. I'll give them a call today to see if they have them.
Just got an appt at Costco for 10/27 to do an adjustment on my Soundgears. I talked to the lady on the phone and she said they now are offering the Soundgear Amp hearing aids but she wasn't sure if they are the 2s. I'll check when I get there.
Great info, thank you. My next Costco fitter appointment is this coming Wednesday but, for me, I have to, maybe, hold off until Costco brings in the Phillips 9060’s so my fitter can evaluate which will work best for my current .
