Hi all, long-time lurker here finally posting because I’m at a loss.
I’ve been wearing Jabra Enhance Pro 10s (purchased at Costco) for about two years. Within the first year they went in for a battery issue. Now the microphones have completely failed — I can cover the mic port with my finger and hear zero difference in output. They’re back with Costco now, who is only offering another repair.
After digging through this forum, I found several threads suggesting mic sensitivity degradation is a recurring issue across the Jabra Enhance Pro line, apparently caused by internal mic filters getting clogged by moisture over time. What’s telling to me is that GN Hearing later released user-replaceable external mic filters and redesigned dual-mic shells — changes that look a lot like a quiet acknowledgment of a design flaw. My Pro 10 predates those updates.
I rely on my left ear as my primary hearing ear (severe loss on the right), so having gone through two service periods already, I’ve lost confidence in the Jabra platform entirely. For someone who depends on amplification every waking hour, another round-trip repair is not a trivial inconvenience.
A few questions for those with more experience:
-
Is mic failure this frequent with the Pro 10 / Pro 20 a known pattern in the community?
-
For anyone who has moved to Philips HearLink 9050 or Rexton Reach R-Li T — how has long-term reliability been, particularly around moisture resistance?
-
Has anyone successfully pushed Costco for a model switch rather than a repeat repair on a documented defect?
Appreciate any insight from this community.
