New Oticon hearing aid?

Hello everyone.

I posted here time ago about hearing aids and I am still looking for new hearing aids. I saw on internet that Oticon make new hearing aid called Verit which has a battery you can change? This one Life-changing technology for people with hearing loss | Hearing care | Oticon11

I was trying different hearing aids and the rechargeable ones really is a problem, it doesn’t last for me especially when power goes out and I can’t rely that they will have battery recharged next morning, also it doesn’t always last me all day. I was doing trial for Unitron. So now I have to return the hearing aids I was trying and keep looking.

I hope is not much trouble to ask if anyone can help me if this hearing aid would work for me when it become available in my country or if I should keep waiting even longer for more new version with batteries to change to come out later?

The Oticon Verit has similar features to the Intent but with replaceable batteries.

There are other BTEs that have longer rechargeable battery life than the Unitron. The Resound Enzo IA (28 hours) and the Widex Allure BTE (up to 37) are some good examples.

I don’t really know anything about Resound and Widex, but I did wear Oticon when was kid. But it sounds good have longer battery. Thank you!

Perhaps Costco will get a 9050 with disposable batteries even if it’s not a big seller.

As somebody who prefers a replaceable battery I asked my Audiologist about the new Oticon Verit.

The word back is that the Verit is NOT available in the UK, as they consider that the private market in the UK is predominantly rechargeable. Oticon have only announced this in select markets (without saying which ones)

I’ve had rechargeable hearing aids from Oticon for the last 6 years and I’ve never had a problem with either charging or them running out during the day. I wouldn’t want to go back to batteries where I did have problems with them running out at critical times.

Is that a fair comparison as rechargable starts fresh each day. If one used a new disposable every day or even every few days it would also never run out. If either is run low then it will run out.

With the portable chargers not left plugged in this can be more of an issue as one doesn’t always notice the charger battery is low and the aids do not charge or not charge fully. With desktop chargers the variable of another battery is not present.

With rechargeables and dryers this is also an issue if one forgets to turn the aid off before leaving it to dry.

I have always preferred battery powered. My 3 year old hearing aids allow batteries which last 3 to 4 days. When the battery is running low I hear warning beeps alerting me. I do not wait until they are dea d. I prefer in Today’s crazy world where forever access to electricity is not a guarantee. Maintaining a one year supply of batteries is simple and safe. During an extreme emergency and simultaneously not able to recharge so that I can hear is a very concern. Batteries provide that safety net.
