Are the hearing tests as good at Costco?

Same here. Costco was more comprehensive and automated than old school AuD.

@raylock1 When I went to Costco yesterday and found that the problem was that there was wax in the molds with the receiver, she said that going forward I should come in every 2 months to get them cleaned out. She said that it can be hard to plug them back in again. Is it hard?? It sure would be nice not to have to come in every 2 months for that.

My eye to hand coordination is not great, and I have trouble with finger dexterity from multiple causes. But my husband doesn’t have those issues, so he could surely pitch in.

If wax is collecting they will need to be regularly disassembled and cleaned by you or someone else or Costco. For optimal performance clean is best. That may mean cleaning them even more regularly than Costco suggests.

Do you shop at Costco? Many get them cleaned while shopping.

I’m not sure what aids and molds you have, but they are all pretty much the same. I change the wax guard filters in my Phonak (like Sennheiser) hearing aids molds every week. It is simple and takes me maybe a minute for both aids. I buy the wax guards from Amazon since they are inexpensive and you can get a much larger supply than the free ones you would get from Costco. My hands are pretty shaky but I don’t have any issues. There are videos on YouTube showing how it is done.
