Why limit the use of NAL-NL3 even temporarily?
1.-Sales : they can say that if you want the new rationale , you have to buy the new model. They are not going to make big bucks by adding the NAL-NL3 at launch for older models and , it is still to be seen if NA3 is significantly better than NAL-NA2. So far , the other player that has enabled NAL-NA3 , AFAIK, is Resound and I haven’t seen any comments here (or anywhere else) saying NAL-NA3 is revolutionary.
2.- They have to test the aids with older models , re-write documentation , etc . Maybe they didn’t have the time or resources to do this by launch and , considering that Phonak is releasing a new platform , they were probably time constrained .
3.- They probably want to have more data on the performance of NAL-NA3 before expanding this to the older platforms .
