Sonite Rise Size

I am considering Sonite Rise with Bluetooth Classic because my Philips 9050’s have too many annoying dropouts while streaming from my Apple devices. The Rise spec sheet says it is 0.5” thick compared to only 0.3” for my 9050’s.

Question for Rise wearers - is the relatively thick Rise uncomfortable, especially with glasses? Thanks.

No, not in my experience - although it does depend on the shape of your own ears, etc

Best thing to do is pop along to your local Costco & try them out

Thanks. Going to buy Rise when I go back 9/12 to get my 9050 earmolds. Will try both and return the loser. Only regret is buying earmolds before I got some experience with the 9050’s.

I wear readers, and haven't had any issues. Well that's not completely true....I'm 2-weeks into my trial and haven't been back for my follow-up adjustments yet. I'm getting some very minor hair noise that seems to be aggravated slightly by the glasses...but that's a fitting adjustment thing, nothing to do with the dimensions

These aids are about the same size as the Phonak Marvel M-90-13T's that I've been wearing for years.

You can return the molds for some time, three months I think but verify with Costco.

You may want to wait a short time too try the molds and learn whether Costco will be getting a newer Sennheiser, especially if wind noise is an issue for you.

I just got the 9050’s last week so I will have plenty of time to compare. If molds are a big plus on the 9050’s I will try them on the Rise too. Thanks for your responses.

re. wind noise....

Wind noise is the one really noteworthy difference that I've noticed so far with these Sennheiser Sonite Rise aids compared to my Phonak Marvels. So far it's the only area I've found that is a great improvement. These are on par with the Oticon aids I trialed some 7 years ago before going with the Phonak.

I've been in a wind a few times with them now, and there has been ZERO wind noise. Definitely in situations where I would have experienced the noise wearing my Marvels!

I went through the settings and I didn't spot any significant differences in the wind settings. I haven't even noticed any wind noise when streaming...and they have the "wind Manager" set to Off (0) in both programs for streamed media!

Rise is the Infinio platform. Whatever Costco gets nest will be Eon platform (likely still not Sphere) which claims even better wind noise handling.

better than zero wind noise is a pretty big claim!!! ha ha

Seriously, though, I'm wondering if these infinio platforms are even a big enough step up from my ancient marvels. I think that it might have a little to do with poor coupling, but so far I've got a couple of situations that I probably don't hear as well...or at least certainly no better.... and I haven't noticed a situation where they are seriously better, except for the wind noise.

So maybe once some program changes happen to dial these Sonite Rise aids in, the wind noise will be something greater than zero with these things.
