Most of the time I was able hear voices on the tv but recently it seems to be less & less so I turn the tv up so I can hear speaking but then music or explosions or anything very loud nearly blows the speaker so as I am waiting for the new Phonak EON’s to arrive ( next week hopefully ) & they have I am wondering about buying the Auracast HDMI tv transmitter or similar but I need to know if sound can be from both speaker & Auracast or one or the other.

I have a HomeSpot transmitter and I encounter TV programs where the sound effects is much louder than speech. This I believe is a digital encoding issue. Turning the sound up on the TV while using the transmitter doesn't help for me. I would look for another program of interest to watch which has better encoding quality.

I use the Avantree Audikast 4 https://avantree.com/products/audikast-4-bluetooth-tv-transmitter2 with a Samsung TV and a Bose Soundbar

Both the Audikast 4 & Bose Soundbar are connected via Toslink Optical Audio cable as the TV only has a single Toslink Optical Audio connector I also have a Optical splitter (these can be purchased for less than £10 on Amazon)

The Sound quality is fantastic (better than Resound TV Streamer 2 which I used previously).

Sound is delivered both to the Soundbar & Audikast 4. Non hearing aid user can adjust the volume through Soundbar with a remote in the usual way I can adjust the volume via the Hearing Aid app (Resound) on my phone.

I highly recommend the Avantree products I also use the C82 Aura to connect my laptop and tablet

My hearing loss is not as bad as yours but anything that makes listening easier is a help

I already have the C82 Aura although not used yet, I was wondering about the tv I have a surround sound that helps but the wife is saying it’s to loud will get one to see when I get my EON’s.

Has anyone tried buying a TV with built-in ? Then you wouldn't have to go through the trouble of buying additional devices like the Avantree. The LG G6 seems to have Auracast.

A bit drastic paying out hundreds of ££ for a new tv if the Avantree device will work for £60 ish unless the tv is broken.

There is one problem: if you have family members who can hear, then—in my case, for example—I wasn't able to play audio simultaneously on the Avantree and my Sonos speaker system. With native on an LG TV, you can play audio simultaneously on the speakers and via Auracast.

Are there TVs out there now that you can't connect an transmitter to with simultaneous output to some kind of speaker device? I had to forgo HDMI to our soundbar and use optical /w splitter instead. It's a pain because we can't control volume with the TV's remote. I've heard that the latest TVs don't include optical, so what do you do? @Phoebe said some time ago that Avantree would bring out a transmitter with hdmi input and passthrough. I don't know how they are going with that.

I've did the same here. Avantee HDMI passthrough HAX06 with Avantee Audikast 4. This allows the use of the sound bar remote to adjust the TV volume and I can use the Audikast 4 to adjust my volume or my phone can also adjust the volume. I can also turn the tv sound down to 1 and play a show through my aids and the TV sound is so low nobody else can hear it. If I mute the TV the Audikast losses it signal so it mute the sound to my aids.

I use the audikast 4 with my lg tv through optical with xbox and nivida shield and I use nexia 9n60s but also my buds pro 4 with adapt sound on works perfectly for me
