infinio i90 ultra random volume increase

For many years I've been using Oticon Engage aids. Whilst not the greatest they have served me well over the years. I've recently upgraded to infinio sphere i90 ultra. So far I'm not overwhelmed. A few little niggles and one main one. For example: In a bar tonight chatting with my wife and all fine. A group walk in and whilst they were fairly loud it was ok. Then the volume on the aids went up high for a while and then back to normal. This happened a number of times whilst I was there. This happened in automatic and spheric. At the moment I'm thinking why did i waste my money on these..! Is there anything in the settings i can do to prevent this?

Sounds like they switched to the music program...another autosense program.

The 'automatic' program has a number of sub-programs....tap on 'automatic' at the top of the screen to bring up the main list of programs & you should see an 'adjust' button in the bottom right hand corner.....tap this & it should give you another screen which defines the sub-program the auto mode is operating in at that time, with controls for that mode. You can there refine how the sub-program is operating & save it as a custom program.

The sudden increase in volume you describe does sound like the automatic program is switching into the 'music' sub-program which is usually set for minimal noise reduction. This effect has previously been reported in this forum with different types of 'noise' being the cause e.g. a loud crying baby, a lawn mower etc.
