Had three more people today who were underwhelmed by their KS6s. Fit all three with Oticon Ria2 Pros and all three were amazed at how much better they sounded. Just an FYI. Even did sound field and Speech in Noise benefit verification… All three did remarkably better with the Oticons.
Hello from another New Mexico member. I was just fit with the Trax42 yesterday at the Cottonwood store. Renaissance would have been closer, but both of my parents were very complimentary of Jeff at Cottonwood. Glad to hear that you had a good experience, it seems that Albuquerque has some good dispensers.
First time with for me, but the experience is very good so far.
Hi! I hope you’re still on the forum. A few questions, all related.
I have Rexton Accord Free hearing aids. I’m on the second or third set… and am now upgrading to the Kirkland Signature. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for .
First, I’ve LOST at least 4 hearing aids over the past 6 or 7 years, and have definitely benefitted from Costco’s loss policy. The fact that the KS aids are trackable with the iPhone is a big selling point.
Anyway, I’ve managed to hang on to one hearing aid, which I want to sell when I upgrade.
So, the questions:
My audiologist at Costco told me that my current aid is an Accord free BTE. But is there a model number? I want to provide good information when listing on eBay.
is there any kind of market for this device? It’s 2 years old, works fine.
Will Costco adjust the device (with no liability, of course) for a Costco member? My audiologist at Costco says they will, but I don’t want to make this representation if it is not true.
Am I in truth wasting my money by buying the KS? It seems like it will be better, with the environmental adjustments available, and the various adjustments within each frequency range. But maybe that’s all hype!
Thanks!
I think if you provide the paperwork they will honor it. I received a pair from a family member and because I could provide all of the paperwork they transferred everything over to me including the remainder of the warranty and have done all cleanings and adjustments for free. they said since they sold them and received payment they don’t need to charge again for the same device. they’re pretty hard to beat.
Hey buddy, sorry I have no information on Phonak’s latest line. Brio has been around for nearly a year so typically things are updated annually, but we have not been given any direct answers as of yet. I hope so!
Wondering if you have any thoughts between the Phonak and KS6. I had my hearing test done a week ago and decided to go with the KS6. They let me walk around the store with each for about 15 minutes and couldn’t tell much of a difference. I did think the Phonak felt a little more comfortable in the ear but really like the features of the KS6 so went with it. My fitting is on Monday.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I also understood receiver technology does not allow for acceptable high-frequency gain. Once you get above mid-range 1,000Hz to 3,000Hz frequencies you are limited by the ability of the “speaker” to amplify 4,000Hz to 6,000Hz sounds.
I realize that in many cases feedback is part of the problem but if we’re completely honest, the key frequencies at 4,000Hz and above aren’t amplified by hearing aids to any degree of benefit to most users. (i.e. Most hearing aid wearers have more than a moderate loss at high frequencies).
So what you’re saying it will be a complete waste of my time and money to get ?
Hi, I have a Kirkland 6.0. Worked great but now it will not pair my right hearing aid with my iPhone 5. It had worked for months. I have replaced the batteries, turned the Bluetooth option on my iphone on and off. Still no luck.
Any suggestions would be appreciated to avoid taking it back to the store.
I have costco trax. Sound is great. Bluetooth crashes all day long. If I open Facebook, the connexx goes into streaming audio. And it stays on streaming audio. It does not go back to automatic unless I delete and reinstall the app. Any suggestions?
It think this was a bug in the previous firmware which has now been fixed in the latest firmware for both the Connect and the hearing aids. Make sure your audi upgrades the firmware on all your stuff. That should prevent them from getting stuck on audio streaming. I think Facebook goes to streaming when there is a movie or sound file in the post. If you move away from the post, it typically goes back to auto.

I just picked up KS6’s on Wednesday and the same thing is the case with my iPhone 6S (though I did not have the months of it working as you did).

Have you found a solution yet?
Thanks.
Go to Settings, General, Accessibility, Hearing Aids and choose Disconnect this device. Then go to Settings, General, Reset and select Reset Network Settings. This will clear the authentication key (along with your Wi-Fi passwords). Pair the hearing aids again but wait a full minute for the process to complete before using them.
How is it possible to get a acturate hearing test done when my high pitch tinnitus in the left ear is going full blast??
They use a warbled tone that sounds nothing like tinnitus so you can easily distinguish it.
I have constant loud pure tone tinnitus in both ears and I just had a hearing test done yesterday at Costco. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the tones they gave me were warbled. I could appreciate the effect and affect immediately, and wonder why this concept wasn’t introduced years ago !!
I’m very much looking fwd to my new set of Phonak Brio R312T’s, after having worn Phonak Piconet P2AZ analog aids for the past 15 years. They are throwing in a free Compilot. I’m even seriously thinking of programming them myself given how busy the clinic is (i.e. appts are usually 4 weeks in advance).
You will find that Costco is very good about follow up appointments. I can typically get one the next day. The initial test takes time and they have to schedule in the future. The followups are short and they can fit one in more easily.
You aren’t able to program them yourself. The manufacturer uses different model designations to prevent their software from working with them.
I’m coming due for new and have been using Siemens Pure for the past 4yr which i have never been pleased with. At my receant trip to Audi she recomended two new types.Widex unique 440 and the Linx2 961. The one’s that i would like to try are the Verso 9 . Is there any info about results from the RM or an equivelent sold by Costco.ca
Thanks
Hi, been lurking here for about a month. I was fitted with, I think, a Kirkland 6 at Costco. One problem is that because of my glasses they keep popping up above my ears. I have a friend with Phonak Audeo V90s when we compared sizes of aids his were substantially smaller and, most of all, thinner. My question is are the Phonaks Costco carries similar in size to the V90s and therefore smaller than the Kirklands?
I need only one hearing aid. My other ear is fine. But if I get only one, will I still benefit from the 3d spatial awareness features of the Resound LiNX2?
