Thanks @LoubyLou for details, and makes it fairly clear to me that this is now another strike against my fitter at Costco. You and I are both in USA and you report that a month ago your fitter needed to update firmware in your fitting appt. and that this was part of having the capacity to allow user to have tap sensitivity control. My KS10 pick up was OCt. 19th and fitter did no firmware update, but it seems one was available. (Again it just seems stupid that Phonak /Costco does not show in EasyLine not just the version of that app, but under the “My Hearing Aids” tab does not show firmware version which is critical information for user to troubleshoot on their own.)
So my conclusion is that in order for user to have sensitivity control all of the following need to be true:
-
KS 10 has at least firmware version _____ or later. (Again only fitter and Target software can reveal that info. Once I find out from my fittr I will write down my firmware version.)
-
In Target software fitter must enable tap sensitivity for user.
-
User must be using EasyLine app version 3.0.3 or later in order to have this functionality.
Seems to me that Costco/Phonak are shooting themselves in the foot by their inelegant roll out of this functionality which addresses what seems to be a widespread frustration area for a significant number of end users who are often stuck with a binary approach if any of the 3 conditions above is false (via EasyLine either enable/disable Touch Control. To be nit picky, they label this as Touch Control but for most it is really Tapping which is far more descriptive than the more general category of Touch). I hope many of us provide feedback about the App in the App store and hopefully Costco/Phonak will improve things. End of my rant … again thanks LoubyLou as the devil is in the details.
Edit on Oct. 30th to correct statement about muting.
