Thanks. You reckon it will ever happen now Android 13 is out?
Maybe I should get an cheap iPhone just for music. Seen some that do not work for calls, but everything else is OK

Engage is too old for it to ever work.
Oticon would need to release a firmware update for it to even be possible which they won’t do as the Engage is I think 2017 technology.
It’s the Opn 2 technology, not the newer Opn S 2.
It’s been the Opn, Opn S, More and now Real so it’s quite old, in terms of technology.

Seen some that do not work for calls,
Why do you think that, unless the iPhone you’re going for has a super old iOS?
I have the NHS Oticon Xceed 1 which works for calls. My friend has the Oticon Engage PP and his iPhone works for calls.

Meant an iPhone where the SIM tray is damaged or suchlike, so it cannot be used to make/receive calls. But audio/wifi/bluetooth all OK so should be able to stream music

Have you ever asked for the Oticon Xceed 1 SP, UP would be too powerful?
The Engage doesn’t allow the Equaliser in the App but the Xceed does. Some other features of the App also doesn’t work.
The Engage is equal to Opn 2
The Xceed is equal to Opn S 1 so it’s top of the range as well and newer technology.
The Engage PP and Xceed SP is basically the same fitting range, but 5 . The Xceed SP is 5 dB more powerful.

I’ve just signed up to the forum to post this, although it’s bad news for Android users.
I’ve recently got a Samsung Galaxy S25 phone with Android 15 and connected my Engage aids to the Oticon Companion app where the functionality is limited. I was hoping for possible use for phone calls or even streaming audio. I emailed my always prompt and helpful Audiology department. This is the reply:
“I am afraid that as the ENGAGE hearing aids are not true Bluetooth and they are rather iPhone compatible, they won’t connect to any other mobile devices.“
I had rather expected something like this and it may also explain why the Auto Unlock feature on my phone doesn’t work with my aids.

@Zebras Thanks for that very specific info.
A very remarkable thing occurred after I posted. I had just before replied to the Audiology Department thanking them for their prompt reply and their generally excellent service. To my very great surprise I have now received a further email from them offering an appointment for a reassessment with a view to giving me fully Android compatible aids!
