A late night hello from an Austrian guy who is looking for some support regarding his audiologist and self fitting.
I got diagnosed with a mild hearing loss recently and bought some Audio Service hearing aids at a local audiologist. At first I felt well with the audi, however after I paid for the aids he lost interest in me. I’m barely getting any support now even though I‘m not happy with the sound quality yet. Since I read a lot about self fitting I decided to give it a go. When I kindly asked my audi if it was possible to get a copy of the fitting software (which should be Connexx I guess?) he told me any change of settings done by me would make warranty claims impossible if my aids had any kind of defect.
Now I am concerned if my audiologist can track down if I actually change settings? Is there anything like a fitting protocol being saved on the hearing aid saying „last connection to Connexx/change of settings“ with a time stamp or something? What would cause such a stamp? Just connecting the aids with Connexx, looking at settings without changing anything, changing settings but not saving them, changing settings and saving them or anything else?
If there was no time stamp at all I could simply change the settings myself and would apply an old copy of the audis settings in case the aids need any kind of fixing. Will the audiologist notice?
Thank you for reading this wall of text!
