I’ve ended up with more licenses when selecting Recover Roger Receivers in Roger Upgrader Software

LOL! You’re the BEST! I really appreciate your reaching out to me here to give me HOPE and hopefully a solution. I only plan to wear my two sets of 312 Phonaks going forward, but it seems stingy of Phonak to insist I disable one of my (now backup!) rechargeables from using the Roger mic. I’ve paid them $4G for 2 sets of licenses already.

Having read that Zebras has like EIGHT licenses on her various devices gives me hope. DAMMIT these mics are not cheap! I feel like Phonak has pulled some slippery moves with us: first the so-called “waterproof” aids that weren’t, and now this endless falderol over mic licenses so they don’t leave money on the table.

I just want things easy - so easy that I don’t need to waste my audi’s time doing it for me. She says bring all the rigamarole in tomorrow and somehow she’ll sort it out, but even pressing that PIN against the hidden hole under the belt clip on the Roger mic is no sure thing. I actually stabbed one of my mics to death doing that last summer and it was over 2 months before I got the replacement mic.

I’ll keep you posted. If push comes to shove, I may just say “No Thanks!” to my audi putting the license for my 2 Roger mics on the new 312s. I’ll just come home and do it myself like any pirate would do.

Go to Hearing Aid Microphone - Roger Upgrader | Phonak6
Scroll all of the way to the bottom of the page and download Roger Upgrader v1.30
Install the program on a PC
Open the Roger Upgrader and connect your Roger On iN
Select “Read Device data”
Hit “Start Assistant” associated with USB Devices
Hit “Continue” on the next page
That page will show the number of receivers installed. If it is less than two, there will be an option at the bottom of the page to add new licenses/receivers
You can also use this software to update the software in the Roger On if needed/desired

OK! Got the game plan here - and many thanks for providing this! I’ll see if hubs can get the PC out (we’re Mac laptop-based) and get this done before I see my audi. It would give me the greatest pleasure to take control of these Roger licenses once and for all. Just to be able to see the status on my aids would be very helpful. At one point I removed just one license off my rechargeable aids yesterday. No idea how, so I repeated my same steps and voila! It was back ON and streaming. The display showed the giant CHECK icon and what looked like a chain link above it, no matter if the aid streamed audio or not. So frustrating I wanted to take a ballpeen hammer to it.

DOGONE but I ran out of time on Friday to get our PC out of the mothballs and follow these steps.

So. I went in to my audi with both Roger mics, plus my old rechargeables AND 312s that already had the Rogers cross-licensed. Mission was to get the new 312s, my Pirates, licensed.

My audi got on the phone with Phonak tech support to be walked through the procedure. It was as convoluted and complicated as ever! I had to sit deaf as a cinderblock with NO aids in cuz they would’ve interfered with the Target program and what had to be done (I think?).

In any case, I tried to STARE HARD. MEMORIZE. MAKE SENSE OF IT. It was a completely different procedure than when I had my 2 pairs of rechargeables cross-licensed last year. At one point, my audi asked me to hand over the rechargeable aid that still had that license on it. That was somehow removed with the pin-push (even tho I was utterly unable to do that on my own at home - is it cuz I didn’t have the app open on a PC?).

She xferred that license from ONE Roger mic onto my new Pirates, and then merely had to hold the OTHER Roger mic up to the Pirates and press that small button on the back of the mic to get them to stream. I. AM. TOTALLY. PERPLEXED. It’s complete black magic to me. I have such a wonderful relationship with my audi that I’d never ever want to betray her trust, but dang, I’d like to game this system once and for all.

Got home immensely relieved that I was able to stream TV and all seamlessly with the new aids. Now I hesitate to even try to mess with the Roger licenses on my own, unless and until I follow your directions here. I swear I was able to get the license xferred from one pair of rechargeables to my older 312s just a few months back, but it’s the ADDITION of licenses using the same Roger mic that I think I need this Roger Upgrader app to do.

Hi Peter. Forgive me, I am new to this having only lost the hearing in my good ear 3 months ago, to compliment my moderate loss in my bad ear from around 2 years ago. I have a pair of Marvel M70’s supplied by the NHS. I was looking at buying a second hand TableMic II, but I was unaware that these have licences built in. Based on what you have done, do you think I can purchase a cheap used TableMicII from eBay and then use the Roger Upgrader to restore the licences, which I can then send to my M70’s. If that works, it would be fantastic. It sounds like that is what you have done. Thanks in advance, Alan.

You need “iN” versions of Roger devices to have licenses included, and it’s always a risk, as many licenses may have been used. Your other option is to buy a Roger Installer, and RogerXs with their serial number about 1744. Sadly, it’s a bit of a nightmare.

Phonak appears to have realised this as Version3 Roger iN devices have unlimited licences.

I’d look out for cheap Roger iN devices on ebay

Ah ok. I think I got confused when you stated that ‘Edit: This means that this Roger TableMic II, has now produced 12 licenses.’
I cannot find a Roger Table Mic II that is part of the In range, only the standard ones. Is there a Roger Table Mic II that can hold licences or is it the Select iN that I am looking for??

That option is not there with Roger On v3. It must work differently now that there are unlimited receivers instead of an IN version?

I don’t know how the v3 handles licenses. Does the Roger show licenses available?

Under Display Data it lists Product name, Serial number, Firmware version, Hardware version. Below that is the ability to copy or print that data or close that window.
