Telecoil Plus Bluetooth, Please!

can be used in the home environment. For example if you have telecoil installed in your hearing aids and your TV does not have bluetooth, you can use your telecoil neckloop to receive the TV sound into your hearing aids. How? Here is a 6 min video showing you how: https://youtu.be/XOaM3N7lIEA18

Just to be pedantic, a neckloop is not a , it has no telecoil in it - it’s an induction loop. I understand adding the descriptor for clarity but it’s not correct. End of pedantry.

Always remember that using a telecoil is mono shared to both ’s. It’s not stereo. It seems like stereo because sound is in both ears but it’s not. Verify this by listening to mid 60’s music. Those were often mixed putting one instrument on one “side” or the other and some in the middle. Or output from a stereo with balance control and spin the dial. The sound will not change to the side that you told it go.

There are some ear hooks that are stereo despite using technology. Not all telecoil is mono.

Then each hook needs to be connected to one side of the audio output.
It’s kind of an incorrect statement to say “not all is mono”. They are inherently mono. One telecoil per ear.
I see one brand uses a standard 3.5mm. I would assume then that it splits out left and right like headphones do.
But we’re mostly talking about neckloops and area loops. That’s all mono.

Sorry if this is a little off subject but I use the program to listen to my headphones with the outside sounds turned down or off.

Awesome, you’re another one of me!
I use ear hooks that I plug into my MP3 player or phone for music.
They look like wired hearing aids but they’re not.
They silhouette along the inside of my ’s against my head and this is how I listen to music while on the go! Throughout the years, I hate the thought of giving up telecoils after reading this thread when we may still need it in cases such as the headphones they still make to this day.
