Phonak Infinio Cros

Hi, yes! I have just completed a 2 week trial while my Paradise P-90 and Cros-R were having pre-warranty expiry refurbishment.
Pros: sound is good (although mine could have done with a little more fine tuning), battery life excellent (12-15hrs with lots of streaming).
Cons: Bluetooth connectivity which was stable and predictable with my Paradise suddenly dropping out, podcast sound flicking between car stereo and HAs, tap control not responding, app locking up while streaming, no sound when swapping from podcast to social media video feed until manual reconnect. Super frustrating, however since there were 3 variables - the HA, iOS17/18 change over and app updates all in play, not sure what was the problem. Since getting my Paradise back, the car stereo/HA issue has reoccurred, so something’s up…
Most importantly, my Audi sang the praises for Infinio as having huge improvement in Speech in Loud Noise. This was not my experience, it was no better or worse than my Paradise.
I read all the Phonak docs and I think the improvement discussed only comes with the Infinio Sphere, and of course, this is not available with a Cros device.
So, I will keep my Paradise for now and hope that something comes from the investment manufacturers are making in over the next couple of years. The Infinio/Cros value proposition does not stack up for me.
Hope that helps.

Have you tried the Oticon Xceed cros? It might solve the problems with connectivity to your iPhone and be good in noise.

Thanks for posting this! I’m currently wearing the Paradise and am looking into Infinio CROS or Oticon Intent equivalent as an upgrade.
Disappointing to hear that it’s not much of an upgrade. Your reported battery life is concerning too - 12-15 hours is not enough to make it through a typical day for me.

Reportedly, the Infinio setting should have 30% more working time on one charge than Lumities/Paradises. Is this not the case?

Hi all,
I think the battery life was better. In my trial I did a lot more streaming than normal and they lasted longer than my Paradise would in be the same circumstances. Even with no streaming my Paradise only last 16 or so hours.
Since I posted above, I have my Paradise back and the connectivity issues have gone away again. Something wasn’t right but I don’t know what.
I’d love to hear whether anyone has upgraded and their experience with different brands.

Did not try the cros but did try the non-sphere Infinio. Kept for a couple of days only and they are much bigger than my marvels. I had to return them because of that. They sounded much better, especially music with headphones was so much better, I cannot use my current marvels with headphones anymore. Bluetooth is phenomenal, was doing my meetings on Bluetooth because it worked so well. Phonak’s issue is wind noise and feedback management. Oticon is supposed to be much stronger in these areas. Getting my intents tomorrow.

Why did Marvels turn out to be poorer under headphones than Infinios R?

I am pretty sure it’s just that the infinio is newer and so much better. Same thing now with my new Oticon Intent. They sound much better with headphones but maybe not qui te as good as the infinio altough I am not so sure.
