Will be a good excuse for the HA manufacturers to re release their accessories to support Bluetooth LE Audio I expect.
This is an insane take. They have to support which is a part of Audio.

Our health care has gone to total crap after the government stuck its nose it to it. So don’t even go there. Since the government regulating our health care cost has gone up well over 200% and the quality of care has become the worst we ever had.

Ah, interesting to see the USA mindset contrasted with the European mindset by a discussion on charging cords. Storm in a teacup (or should it be coffee cup?). ![]()

What am I even reading, do you understand what government regulated and mandated healthcare is?
Because yours is not. It’s run by for profit companies.

As Americans we left Europe and England to get away for dictator and royalty. We have fought for our freedom. We don’t want the government ruling our lives. And government regulations and mandated paperwork has caused every damn bit of our extra cost. We have doctors leaving their practices because 90% of their cost of doing business is feeling out government regulated paperwork. And our government grew almost 100% in employment just to handle the regulated paperwork. All it is is politicians trying to justify their existence and at the same time feeling their overseas accounts with our tax money. Government be damned.

I earned that right serving my country. And spending a lot of that time right in Washington DC and seeing first hand the lies, the cheating and the corruption. You would do well to try it sometime. And I still believe we need less government and not more. We need less government regulations so what few corporations we have left in this country can but the citizens here to work. We need to get rid of about ninth percent of government workers that do nothing more that draw a paycheck without doing any productive work.

You have no understanding of this country so why don’t you worry about your on countries problems. The worse problem here other than the government is we have 10s of millions that draw checkes that never worked a day in their lives. They get a check, health care and food stamps for doing damn nothing. I worked my whole life to feed, cloth, educate, and keep my family healthy as I watched a high percentage of what I worked for go to people that did nothing but complain that they deserved more for nothing. So take off your binders and see the real world.

Apple changed from a 13 pin power plug to the Lighting plug on September 12, 2012. I don’t think that USB-C was invented yet.

The only thing that I agree with the EU standardization is that when a device has reached the end of its life, the cable can continue on and can be used for other devices. However, the charging case, for my hearing aids has a 110 V AC plug on one end and a USB-C plug on the other. Therefore, I assume that the DC converter is inside the case. Many devices have a USB-A plug on one end and a USB-plug on the other end. This signifies that the DC transformer rectifier, or what ever is inside the power adapter. So standard is not so standard after all.
Sorry I am struggling to understand this.
Normally you have a power adaptor with a wall plug and this is where the / DC power conversion is done and the power adaptor will typically have a USB Type A (or more recently USB Type C) output. This is what one end of your charging cables needs to match.
The other end of the cable goes either directly to the device (phone, tablet, headphones etc) or the device’s charging case (hearing aids, earbuds etc) and the connector here (USB Type micro/mini, USB type C, lightning or other proprietary connectors) defines the other end of the cable. Ideally there would be one standard connector each end of the cable (increasingly this is USB Type C).
However for now we have a mixture of connectors at each end meaning I have USB Type A to lightning, USB type C to lightning, USB Type A to USB Type C, USB Type C to USB Type C, USB Type A to USB Type B mini/micro, USB Type B to Garmin etc etc. Its a nightmare!
The wall connection for the power adapter does indeed vary by country - but pretty much all recent power adaptors can autosense the input voltage and support 110/120/230/240V 50/60 Hz. So here its just the physical connection you need to manage which is normally just a simple travel adapter without any need for electronics.
USB Type C really has many advantages to replace many other adapters and cables. Not just a replacement for for the different cable for charging smaller devices. Most laptops now support type C charging (typically requires 65W or above Type C power adapter - but with GaN USB adapters this can be quite small and replace carry a bulky laptop power adapter) and use USB Type C for all their other communication protocols. My HP laptop just needs a USB Type C connector to its docking station for all power and connectivity.
For displays USB Type C is replacing HDMI, Display Port, mini Display Port, DVDI, VESA etc (and handling the power at the same time).
More and more high power devices (power tools etc) are using USB Type C as their power input.
I know I will never get to just needing USB Type C to USB Type C for everything (and if I do someone thing else will likely be coming soon
) - but if more and more of my power adaptors and devices supported USB Type C I could at least carry less power adapters and cables. Fortunately that does seem to be the way things are moving!
It really does make sense if we can standardize

Lightning solved one of the big problems of previous USB ports - with Lightning you could plug it in either way round and it would work! However Lightning has its own problems. I think all of my previous iPhones have become unreliable over time for charging the device through the lightning port (for my last 2 iPhones I ended up only being able to wireless charge). USB Type C can be plugged in either way round and seems more robust for long term usage and repeated plugging in and out.

Good luck. I really, truly hope that Elon won’t flock you over too much, Trump isn’t too fond of the veterans either. Wish you the best, US.

You know nothing except what the media tells you to believe. That is the other thing people believe the lies that the propaganda media tells them to believe. Try thinking for yourself it does wonders for your mental health.

You will stil have the same number of cables, but they will all be USB-C. For example, cell phone, laptop, iPad, hearing aid case, and whatever else you need to charge overnight. And a power strip for the rest.

I have a Samsung s23, Samsung tablet, Kindle Eink reader, and a Fire tablet, all that use USBC the key when traveling is to gage usage. My Samsung phone uses a wireless charger that also charges my smart watch. The rest only need one usbc cable and power source. The Kindle needs charging about once a month, the Fire tablet sbout twice a week, and the Samsung tablet maybe 3 times a week. But I always have a backup solution incase of power outages so I carry battery packs for backups.

Not really - I don’t need to charge them all at the same time or at same frequency.
Typically I am travelling with of these

You are probably correct. Did you ever clean out the debris from the iPhone Lighting port? Occasionally, you either have to blow in the female part or clean it out with a toothpick. I only have USB-C on my iPad which I don’t carry around in my pants pocket. Regardless, havin the EU government mandating a plug in my opinion is overkill.
