Advice about hearing aid levels?

Hello everyone.

I would like to ask for some advice about the hearing aid level thing. I finally found hearing aids that don’t make my fibromyalgia pains or tinitus happen badly, and now I have choice for two possible options. My audiologist did new and after a surgery I did lose some hearing more, he suggested that either cochlear implant or to try with Widex or Bernafon. I tried Widex and I didn’t understand words so I then tried Bernafon which is working so better than any hearing aid I had or tried before. So I have two options.

One is the Bernafon Leox UP with level 3.

Second is same hearing aid with level 7.

From what I understand more level means better in noise but I don’t know if I understand exactly how and if it is worth going for the 7?

If anyone have advice about this if it is worth the extra price? 80% of price is covered by my parents’ insurance, so is it worth going for level 7?

This is correct. The higher levels have better algorithms that manage the signal to noise ratio (make speech easier to understand in noise). Speech in noise is the most relevant feature in this case, although there are other features as well.

The general recommendation is to opt for the most advanced technology that fits your budget. The decision depends on factors such as the out-of-pocket difference, the type of places you frequent and reside in, and your personal sound preferences. In quiet environments, both options perform similarly.

You’ve already tried the Widex and the 3s. Why not give the 7 a try? Ultimately, you’ll have to decide if the significant price difference makes a noticeable impact on your hearing.

Thank you, I think already I am scheduled try the 7 next week, then I will try. Should it be better in restaurant and cafes compared to 3, right?

They should – and at that moment you will know if they are worth it or not.
