No, with my AVANTREE Audikast tiny little, always turned on while connected to my TV, I plop down and kick back in my recliner chair after being away (shopping, church, picking up mail, dumping trash, etc.). Next, grab my iPhone, click on my hearing aid app, wait until the stupid h a finally connect to the app (they disconnect all the time, and, they they’re bluetooth and the settings in the phone are perfection + the iO/S in my devices are always right up to date, faster than anyone I know. Next, I scroll down to the bottom of my h a app to “search for a broadcast”: Voila, rápidamente, up pops my Audikast transmitter with the correct model number. It is up and running. Next, I re-set, LOWER the TV VOLUME control on my TV remote down (from a previous # 14~16>to around # 4~6). I hope this long winded detailed info helps, at least, 1 person know how inexpensive and easy it is to do. I paid about $ 80 + tax, free shipping on Amazon, a few months ago. The unit already comes with the correct cord for a tv. My bluetooth, older model tv from Costco, has no jack, so I had to use the Avantree accompanying cord, that works perfectly. Many thanks for your post.
