Compilot Driver

Why do you think you need a driver?
The user guide5 says the mini-USB port is for charging input. I expect you need to use the audio input (3.5mm jack) or Bluetooth for audio from your computer.

My laptop is bluetooth capable. I can use it for skype and office communicator online meetings. The device manager lists the “bluetoothperipheraldevice” as driver not found. My Compilot is pared with my laptop (it get email and OC notifications) just no voice access.

The Bluetooth driver should come from your laptop maunfacturer.
Perhaps your laptop does not support the same Bluetooth version & profiles as the ComPilot.
According to this10, the ComPilot supports Bluetooth version 2.1 and the HSP, HFP, A2DP, AVRCP, and PBAP profiles.
The HSP (Headset Profile) and/or HFP (Handsfree Profile) are likely important in this situation.

you must download and install Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 - 64bit.exe
It works but not in a very satisfactory manner. I am going to try a audio to bluetooth converter instead.

Thank rayr, please keep me posted on your progress. I too will continue to look for a 64bit driver that is compatible.

I have an older Lenovo T61 and spent way to much time trying to get it to work with my miniTek I bought one of these and it took longer to un-box it then it did to get it working.

I got this via my audi from Phonac. It is a PDF that shows how to fully configure the compilot with Windows 7 64bit
I apologize for the text version, but I could find a way to imbed a file in this forum or paste graphic images from a pdf to this entry.

Thank you for the info I have been looking for this for a while
Though it is pretty hard to get it to work without the screenshots as they explain which driver to choose.
Would it be posible to get a copy of the PDF by email or upload?
I can send you my contact details in a private message if you would email it to me.
Best regards
Erik

If anyone wants a copy of the PDF send me a private message with your email address. The files is too large to upload here

I was able to pair up the Compilot and felt as though the drivers were correct, however I still couldn’t get it to give me control of the unit to connect and adjust speaker levels, etc. I followed Tinos PDF which helped a lot, but still wasn’t able to make it work as I couldn’t get the device to show the “sound settings” (alternatively mine said “control” instead of “sound settings”) option on the dropdown menu from the bluetooth device window. Finally, a Phonak rep responded to my Audi and gave me a couple other options to try. After about 6 hours of troubleshooting I finally got it to work and I am happy. In an attempt to help everyone else save some time and effort, I collected all the files, drivers, links, options, screenshots of my steps, etc together in one file.
If anyone else is having troubles private message me and I will send this expanded file to you (it also has Tino’s file included).

Cookie,
What did you have to do different? And more importantly, how can you get that woman to stop saying “Compilot Tino’s PC” every time something changes on my laptop!

I had to load yet a different driver then the one listed in your packet. After some more searching and an email to my audiologist a Phonak rep got back to us with a couple other threads from some forums to try. I dug through all of those ideas and stumbled upon that driver bundled with a bunch of other ones.
I had a checkup with my Audi today and she thinks she will be able to turn down the annoying British GPS-type voice that crabs the name of my computer at me every time something changes. I have to take the ComPilot back to her tomorrow and I’ll keep you posted as to if it worked.

I have downloaded and installed the Windows Mobile driver as instructed, but my laptop still doesn’t see the Compilot. I would appreciate your help in solving this problem! The Compilot works ok with my Samsung mobile, both in phone calls and in streaming audio. Only the Win 7 Pro laptop won’t work. Laptop is Asus U46S.

TINO!
My Audi and I tried different solutions while on the phone to Phonak, yesterday. There is no way to turn the volume down on the ComPilot lady. However we were able to stop her from saying “connecting to Cookie’s computer” while still keeping the “so-and-so is calling” voice. Audi said she turned to “warnings only” mode.
Hope this helps!

Hi cookie crumbles,
I noticed you were extending the Phonal ComPilot to Windows 7 solution from Tino.
As you mentioned you have additional information to make it work. So I hope you can share that with me.
Strange thing is that when Tino sent me the PDF on Howto… I managed to get it working. Now I have a new pc and it does not anymore. Perhaps the buggy driver from Dell again.
So if possible…
I would really appreciate it.
PS It seems I am not allowed sending PM’s

Hi
I have supported many compilot users trying to connect to pc’s and laptops - and it is always a challenge. Different laptop and pc designs utilise Bluetooth in different ways, and you need matching Bluetooth driver configurations in the ComPilot and pc/laptop for things to work well. As many of you have found one solution is to track down a full bluetooth driver stack for your computer OS, and follow the Phonak set up guide - then troubleshoot using forums until the kinks are ironed out. I have found an easy solution is to purchase a BlueTooth USB dongle that supports the Bluetooth profiles supported by ComPilot (A2DP and HSP/HFP, etc), as previously mentioned in this thread it takes alot of the hassel out and is much easier to achieve the desired result - or for skype etc, just use the audio cable from pc to compilot and use a plug in microphone - the compilot battery will last longer as well. I hope this helps.

Thanks!

I appear to be in the same situation that I cannot send you a PM.
Is it possible to put the PDF file onto Google or DropBox or similar rather than having to respond to individual request (like this one) for the PDF?
The printed version earlier in this thread is just about useless without the images(at least to me!).
Thanks
Susan (who still can’t believe that this is so easy with just about everything EXCEPT Windows!!!)
