Configuration/specifications for custom ear molds

I have worn custom ear molds ever since I started wearing hearing aids primarily because of the cause of my hearing loss. I have had the same pair for at least 10 years. My question is who or how is the configuration or specification for custom ear molds determine? I ordered new molds when I got new this year. They came in looking significantly different than prior molds - vent holes were missing or significantly smaller than in prior molds. Who or what determines the location/size of vent holes? Does anyone have any clue on this?

Does that mean it is included in the order for the earmolds?? or is the sent with the order and the maker of the earmolds makes the determination?

Please clairify if you can.

Thank you very much. These were Phonak hearing aids that I purchased. I am at a total loss to understand why the earmolds came back the way they since this is the case. They had made earmolds for me before and they were significantly different. Appreciate your taking the time to respond.

I suppose the seller/fitter could just specify the size. I would check with him/her. If they are not satisfactory, Phonak will replace them if requested within a period of time. I don’t recall if it is 30 days or something else.

The time period is 60 days and I am well within that time period. I will give it some additional thought.
