Does anyone else have different domes (kinds or sizes) on each ear? I’m only a couple of weeks in to wearing hearing aids and understand there’s an adjustment period. My left ear is perfectly fine and happy, while my right is the opposite. I have Signia 7IX with tulip domes. My Audi spent limited time with me at my fitting appt was, maybe 20 mins. I go back next week and want to get the fit right.
I already know that the wire is too short, the aid is right on top of my ear for the wire to reach my canal. But the dome is also causing issues:
- I have to push it back in my ear multiple times a day.
- After a few hours it’s painful/digs in (especially if I smile).
- My voice is super loud and echo-y in my head in the right ear and external sounds are blocked and muffled on that side.
- I feel like I have Eustachian tube dysfunction after a few hours of wear (popping when I breathe) which resolves overnight.
- I think my tinnitus is louder on the right.
I suspect maybe a different dome (size or type) might be the answer, but based on our previous appts I’m concerned about being dismissed. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Any tips or ideas to suggest? Thanks.
