How to use Oticon Intent App

Can someone please explain to me what these setting on my Oticon App do. As you can see by my hearing test chart, I have severe high frequency hearing loss, and still continue to struggle with words. I don’t want to deal with my fitter anymore as she is useless helping me. I will just find someone outside the provider that can help with these hearing aid once paid off. In the meantime, can any of these settings help me with my situation as I don’t know how to use them and have been using these hearing aids for about 6+ months.

Someone more versed in the technicalities of hearing loss such as yours should chime in but … I find the Oticon “app” borderline useless and just a current drain on both the aids and the phone. It’s easier for me to just click the buttons on the aids to switch between programs (I have 3: regular, speech in noise, and music), then adjust the volume to where it works for me. 9 times out of 10 I just leave it in the regular setting as speech-in-noise doesn’t seem to fit well with my life circumstances (fewer bars, loud restaurants, more larger rooms where nothing helps unless you’re in a seat that gives you close line-of-sight to the speaker and similar to the folks behind you. I often sit sideways in a room to let me bounce back and forth!. Finally, the music setting seems to beef up vocals and as a non-singing musician I want more emphasis on the instruments which I get in the regular #1 program.

Not sure any of that gives you any guidance, but it’s well worth what you paid for it!

I thought I was the only person that found the app useless. Even when trying different settings I still don’t get much benefits from them. Background noise to seems to be worse than general and comfort. I still can’t seem to find the right volume setting with the hearing aids.

The Oticon companion app is very minimally useful.
I also have the Phonak Spheres and the Myphonak app is much more useful, but also a little more complicated to use.

I don’t remember the last time I opened the app!

My Pixel 9 has , and I control my ’s with the phone, and use the buttons for program & volume.

A professional who understands programming hearing aids (or if you ) will tune them according to your needs, and you’ll find little use for the Companion.

Best you can do is get a new fitter, and don’t wait!

The App equalizer is quite limited for severe loss, but you may try to increase the Mid & High sliders upward to see if you get better word recognition.

Get a f/up appt. with your fitter, and explain the problems. The Oticons do not require the app.
