Left side being amplified on right side in error

I have Specsavers Advance Elite aids. Randomly the sound amplification on the left stops and is transferred to the right. So if I touch the left ear microphone I hear the noise in my right ear.
Switching on an off again fixes it but then it can randomly occur again. This happens even when not connected to the Bemore app or the phone bluetooth.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

Sounds like the acoustic phone mode, except I hear in both ears, what my right aid hears. I dunno. What does the app tell you is going on?

I’m using the Bemore app which tells me nothing other than battery level and volume for right and left.

This randomly happens and I wonder whether it’s something I’m doing that sets it off like touching the earpiece inadvertently. I can’t detect a pattern.

I’ll probably visit the shop and see what they say.

Hi @Electricheater I sometimes use the Bemore app, although I find it a bit useless. Try the Resound smart 3d app. Both apps work with my NHS aids.

Did you ever find a solution? I have Resound Omnia Mini 9s and I have been having this same problem for about 6 months now. This happens to me anytime I am exposed to relatively loud ambient noise for more than a few minutes. I have tried many different solutions with no success.

It’s the hearing aids responding to the noise and trying to help you by reducing the gain on the side the noise can s coming from. You are hearing sounds from one side in the other ear because that’s how it all works. The sound is sent between the aids by Bluetooth.

You should ask your audiologist to change the settings to avoid this. He/she should understand what is happening.

I uninstalled the app and just use the aids standalone. It hasn’t happened since. I also realised I kept touching them which I no longer do.
