Have had my Jabra’s from Costco since 2021. For the most part they were fine. I didn’t love the streaming but it was acceptable and I didn’t love that I had to connect my MiniMIc to my computer in order to watch Youtube videos through my aids. My biggest problem was hearing in noise.
I picked up a demo pair of the new Jabras yesterday and immediately went to a dinner at Texas RoadHouse. I used the Hearing in Noise setting which was better than the Regular setting but both actually seemed worse than my old hearing aids.
My fitter has been suggesting the 9050’s based on his own personal experience of liking them better.
My question is this: it is often said on here something to the effect of “a bad set of hearing aids well programmed will sound better than a good set poorly programmed.” So what are your thoughts? Should I just stick with Jabra and keep tweaking away (I am reasonably familiar with SmartFit after 4 years) or would trying some of the other Costco options (or the Starkey’s - which I like due to their claims for battery life and additional water resistance) possibly be worth the time and trouble of changing brands.
Thanks.
