Does anybody have some information around that?

Thank you. It seems like that the CEO of Phonak said something about a new platform and probably a smaller sphere model earlier this year. I just cannot find the original statement, so I thought maybe somebody knows more here.

I was told it would be “everything I’ve ever wanted" but I don’t think it will actually give me the winning lottery numbers.

Maybe finally Naida and Naida Link…!
I wonder if Phonak will make a joint announcement of new generation devices together with Advanced Bionics.

No exaggeration! There will definitely be no xMEMS receivers, so certainly not “everything”. ![]()

No. Maybe a new platform .
I think our oticon release is scheduled for August 11, so I expect phonak to also be that day +/- a few. They always try to steal eachother’s thunder.

When that happens there’s unlikely to be a product cycle, just a firmware upgrade to marry up the output of the aids to the new receiver. Unless they can make them do more, cheaply (volts) or performance (significant jump) I’d be surprised if they get quickly adopted over the known responses of the current balanced armature range.

No. Maybe a new platform RIC.
Boring. That is, just like every 2 years. Perhaps new SDS (7.0?) will have better frequency response, like SDS 6.0 UPs compared to the 5.0. (I’m crystal-balling, I know
).
Probably the only change is September instead of August, but I may be wrong, because of your justified supposition about “stealing thunder” ![]()

I didn’t know that switching to XMEMS technology only required new receivers and a firmware update. This is good news for those like me who will have to replace their hearing aids within the year.

And more powerful battery and possibly power management system.

From what I’ve seen it’s more like that there’s going to need to be another design power uplift, but I imagine when/if the transition comes, the aid/fitting software will recognise the type of device and make the appropriate output changes.

For Costco members, it doesn’t matter what Phonak releases—we always end up getting it two years later. Sad.

New Oticon next week? In years gone by we would have been subjected to months of build up. What’s going on?

Not sure why you think the discount big-box ‘should’ get the latest and greatest at 30% of what everyone else pays, before some time has elapsed.

@Um_bongo Do you think TrueHearing does the same thing regarding latest hearing aids. They say they are the latest.

But didn’t Oticon recently present the new Verit? Or should I consider those a simple restyling of the Intent?
