Elehear looks interesting, but they might work a bit on their communication. On the same page of one of their sales websites (https://www.u-buy.ch/3) I read:

“These aids offer a user-friendly solution for seniors experiencing moderate to severe hearing loss”

“Beyond hearing aids are designed to accommodate a range of mild to moderate hearing loss.”

Customer dissatisfaction guaranteed, at least in my case.

Moreover, this company appears to be focused on the US market. It does ship to Europe, but at about double the price, taking the fun out of avoiding a top-of-the-line HA.

Yeah, the new airpods work for me too, and they are not supposed to. My new $5000 aids are a bit better overall but the AP3s are better for music and just as good for streaming and phone calls. I don’t like the way they look so I don’t wear them out except at the gym where all the cool guys have them. $200 VS $5000. Who knew?

@Psych2 Yes, It is no wonder that the big five (the Five Families!) hearing aid manufacturers put on a full court press against the enabling legislation sponsored by Sens. Grassley and Warren to allow OTC hearing aids. The five families said they were concerned with consumer safety! The legislation passed in a landslide. ( But now Sennheiser sells an OTC.)

Yes, interesting, self-serving argument. The outdated Hippocrates “first do no harm” oath is still followed like a god-given command, as if it was never replaced by the enlightened “do proper risk/benefit assessments”. Not to mention all those hearing-impaired who cannot afford HAs of any sort.
